To the attention of our friend, distinguished young man,

Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav, former student of the

Yeshivah*, Rav Menachem Zeev Gringlass (note 1: See, regarding him, letter no. 7774. This is the beginning of letter no. 45), Montreal,

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letters of the 13th and 16th of Kislev*:

A) Our friend, Rav Y. Weinberg (note 2: See, regarding him, the preceding letter), has surely already received my letter, which was a response to his (note 3: It refers to the preceding letter). I hope that he, in turn, will contribute his assistance, to the fullest extent possible, in writing these notes, with the appropriate eagerness.

B) The thirty-six Shekels transmitted by the author of the Pardes are duly received and they have been forwarded, in accordance with the instructions. The receipts from the committee for the Sefer Torah* (note 4: Written to go toward the arrival of our righteous Moshiach*. See, on this subject, letter no. 29) will reach their destination in the coming days.

C) The publications that you requested were sent to you some time ago already.

D) You have surely received the account of the talks of Shemini Atzeres* (note 5: Delivered by the previous Rebbe*. See, on this subject, letters no. 29, 37, and 47) and the information for Mr. Filer. I am enclosing a copy of the two letters addressed to the Talmud Torah*. For the time being, no response has been received from them.

E) When you return to me the account of Shemini Atzeres*, I will send you those of Simchas Torah* and of the 10th of Shevat*, if you do not yet have them.

F) The request that you formulate concerning the periodical HaKriah VeHaKedushah* has been transmitted to it and you will receive a detailed response.

G) We have taken note with great pleasure of your activities and those of the former students of the Yeshivah*, in the domains of the Machaneh Israel* and the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*. But, what can one do, my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, asks everyone to redouble their ardor each day, beyond what was already accomplished the day before. And, here is the expression he employs, in the name of the Rebbe Maharash* (note 6: See, on this subject, letters no. 1544, 3219, 7894, and 8012): "Even if the good is good, is not the better, better?" Without a doubt, you and your friends will adopt the same attitude.

H) When the opportunity presented itself, we sent a Likkutei Torah* and a Tanya* to Rav Hirshhorn, as you requested.

I) If we write to the Necher or to the Rabbanim* that you cite in your letter, we will let you know. For various reasons, this has not yet been the case.

J) You will surely tell me how the celebration of 19 Kislev* went in your community.

א) בודאי קבל כבר ידינו הרה"ח וכו' הר"י ווינבערג שי' מכתבי-מענה. ובבקשה, שהוא מצדו, יעזור בכל התלוי בו בעריכת הרשימות ובזירוז הראוי.

ב) מ"ו המשקל ע"י בעלה "פרדס" נתקבל, ונמסר כפי ההוראה. הקבלות מועד הס"ת יגיענו ימים אלו.

ג) עניני הדפוס שבקש נשלחו לו זה מכבר.

ד) הר"ד דשמע"צ וההודעות בשביל מר פילער בטח כבר קבל. ומוסג"פ העתק ב' המכ' להת"ת. מענה מהם לא נתקבל לע"ע.

ה) בקבלתי חזרה הר"ד דשמע"צ, אשלח להם, אם אין עדיין אצלם, הר"ד דשמח"ת ויו"ד כסלו.

ו) בקשתו להקוה"ק נמסרה ויענו לו בפרטיות.

ז) בנועם גדול קראנו ע"ד 9פעולותיו ופעולות כל התמימים בעניני מחנה ישראל ומל"ח. אבל מה נעשה, וכ"ק מו, אדמו"ר שליט"א תובע מכאו"א להוסיף אומץ בכ"י נוסף על יוןם שלפניו. וז"ל בשם אדמהר"ש נ"ע: צי אז גוט איז גוט, איז בעסער ניט בעסער? - ובטח גם הוא וחבריו יתנהגו באופן כזה.

ח) בהזדמנות נשלח הלקו"ת ותניא בשביל הרב הירשהורן כבקשתו.

ט) כשנכתוב לה"נשר" ולהרבנים שמזכיר במכ' נודיענו. ומכמה סיבות נתעכב ע"ע.

י) בודאי יודיעו ע"ד חגיגת הי"ט כסלו אצלם.
