By the grace of Hashem,

To our friends, former students of the Yeshivah* and

Chassidim* of the city of Tel Aviv,

I greet you and bless you,

My father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, founded, three years ago, the Kehot (note 1: Which was founded in 5702 (1942). This letter was therefore written in 5704 (1944)) publishing house, with the objective of publishing various books and booklets of the revealed part of the Torah*, of Chassidus*, educational manuals, and reading books in conformity with Tradition. The editorial board Otzar HaChassidim Lubavitch, the Machaneh Israel*, and the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch* now publish their works through the intermediary of this institution. You surely know the books and booklets that have already seen the light of day. The immense contribution that has resulted, for strengthening the Torah* and Judaism, is inestimable. Now, just as it is proper, here in this place, to publish the finest books, to the extent possible, the same applies to all former students of the Yeshivah* and the Chassidim*, putting into practice the holy instructions of my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, whatever they may be. They must endeavor to disseminate these books in all the places where they reside. And, this dissemination has two aspects:

1. These books must be studied and read by the greatest number of people.

2. The financial revenue must be as large as possible, in order to facilitate the publication of other books.

Every Chassid* must devote himself to all of this individually, to the fullest extent of his means. Nevertheless, the greatest success can only be achieved through organized action, in each city and in each region. For this reason, we address ourselves to you to propose that you gather and discuss this matter. You will establish, for this purpose, a specific committee (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 7784), which will be charged with the dissemination of books in Tel Aviv and its region, in the most organized manner. Whoever can be convinced to read the books that suit him, according to his level, must indeed be contacted as part of this effort. We are convinced that, like us, you will perceive the importance of what is at stake and you will soon announce to us that all of this has indeed been followed by a concrete effect. The details of shipments from here are known by our friend, the great Rav, Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav E. Karasik (note 3: See, regarding him, letter no. 7785). May Hashem grant that we all take part in the dissemination of the wellsprings (note 4: Of the teaching of the Baal Shem Tov*, Chassidus*), until they reach the outside, in order to witness the complete redemption, through our righteous Moshiach*. With my blessing for immediate Teshuvah* and immediate redemption,

זה שנה שלישית אשר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א יסד את הוצאת הספרים "קה"ת, אשר מטרתה לעסוק בהוצאת הספרים וחוברות שונות, כגון ספרי נגלה, דא"ח, ענינים של חיזוק היהדות, וספרי חינוך וספרי קריאה על טהרת הקודש.

באמצעות "קה"ת, מוציאים לאור את ספריהם: "מערכת אוצר

החסידים - ליובאוויטש", "מחנה ישראל" וה"מרכז לעניני חינוך".

בטח ידוע לכב' ע"ד אותם הספרים והחוברות אשר בע"ה הופיעו כבר ע"י "קה"ת, ואי אפשר לשער התועלת המרובה שעניני הדפוס הנ"ל הביאו לחיזוק התורה והיהדות.

אבל כמו שהחובה כאן - להשתדל בעצם הוצאת הספרים בהידור הכי אפשרי, כן מוטלת חובה קדושה על כל התמימים ואנ"ש שי', שומרי הוראות קודש כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר שליט"א לכל אשר יצוה, להשתדל בכל מקומות מגוריהם בהפצת הספרים, אשר הפצה זו פירושה: א) כדי לזכות יותר ויותר אנשים בלימוד הספרים ובקריאתם, ב) כדי להרבות בהכנסות הכספיות ולהקל ע"י זה אתה אפשרות להוציא עוד ספרים.

ואף שכל אחד ואחד מאנ"ש מחויב לעשות בזה גם באופן פרטי כפי יכלתו, הנה ההצלחה הכי גדולה בהפצה אפשרית רק ע"י עבודה [..] ומסודרת בכל עיר ומחוז.

ולכן הננו לפנות עליכם בהצעה להתאסף יחד לדון ע"ד שאלה זו, ולארגן ועד מיוחד אשר ישתדל בהפצת הספרים הנ"ל בתל-אביב ובסביבותי' בסדר הכי טוב, ובאופן שלא תחסר הגעת הספרים אפילו לאחד שיש איזו אפשרות להשפיע עליו שיקרא בספרים הראויים לו, כל אחד לפי מדרגתו.

בטוחים אנו שכמונו כמוכם תכירו בנחיצות הדבר, ותבשרנו בקרוב ע"ד הוצאת הדבר מן הכח אל הפועל.

פרטי המשלוח מכאן ידועים לידידינו הרה"ג והרה"ח הוו"ח אי"א וכו' מוהר"א שי' קאראסיק.

והשי"ת יזכנו כולנו להיות מהמשתתפים בהפצת מעינותיך שיגיעו גם חוצה ולראות עי"ז בגאולה שלימה ע"י משיח צדקנו.
