To the attention of the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Sh. M. Kalmenson (note 2: See the preceding letter),

I greet you and bless you,

I ask you earnestly to convey the enclosed letter to my dear mother, may she have a long life. You have surely already delivered to her the one that I sent you some time ago (note 2: See the preceding letter). I thank you very much. I do not know precisely whom to address there (note 3: In Paris). You will surely take it upon yourself to convey to them (note 4: To the Chassidim* of Paris), on my behalf, that they must place at her disposal everything she requests. Of course, I will reimburse everything, according to the amounts that they indicate to me and, furthermore, I will express to them my gratitude.

I hope that you have already received the package of books (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 260, which states: "In accordance with your request, a package containing several of our publications has been sent in your name"). We will send others when you confirm its reception to me. You will take one of these books in exchange for a Tanya* printed there, which you will send here. For the time being, indeed, we do not have a Tanya*. No doubt, upon receiving the present letter, you will announce to me good news and, as the end of the Midrash* Esther Rabbah* states, "goodness in abundance, beneficence in abundance." Indeed, according to the teaching of our Sages, "from the beginning of Adar*," precisely, "one increases one's joy." I conclude by wishing you all the best,
