By the grace of Hashem,

23 Iyar* 5707,

To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav L. (note 1: Rav Yehudah Leib Kremer. See, regarding him, letters no. 905 and 7832. This letter was written on the letterhead of a Parisian hotel),

I greet you and bless you,

You have surely learned of my trip here (note 2: To Paris, in order to meet his mother and accompany her to the United States). I hope that in the meantime, you have received good news, including regarding your personal situation. I am enclosing a letter from my close relative, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Isser Klubgant (note 3: See, regarding him, letters no. 278, 419, 7825, 7826, 7832, and 7842), concerning members of his family, descendants of Rav A. D. Lawut (note 4: Rav Avraham David Lawut, great-grandfather of the Rebbe*). I ask you earnestly to convey this letter to them, so that it be of the greatest possible use to them in obtaining a visa. I am convinced that you will concentrate your efforts on this objective, to the fullest extent possible. It is surely unnecessary to say more.

I will depart from here, probably, after the festival of Shavuos*, which approaches for the good, and I therefore conclude by wishing you to receive the Torah* joyously, as well as by greeting all of yours,
