To the attention of the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

former student of the Yeshivah*, Rav Sh. M. (note 1: Rav Shalom Mendel Kalmenson, then in Prague. See, regarding him, letter no. 7805. This letter was written on the letterhead of a Parisian hotel),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned with joy, through the Chassid*, Rav B. T. (note 2: Rav Ben Tzion Shem Tov, who had accompanied Rav Yehudah Leib Motshkin, cited below, to Prague, where both were sent by the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*), that you have founded, in your city (note 3: In Prague), a girls' school Beis Sarah. Furthermore, I immediately informed Brooklyn (note 4: The previous Rebbe*) of this. From there, you will also receive a study program and manuals. In the meantime, you will surely organize the studies in the best manner.

Even if, for the reasons that Rav B. T. explained to me, you are not, for the time being, officially the director of this school (note 5: See, on this subject, letter no. 290), you are nonetheless the emissary of my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, in your city and, in this capacity, you are the sole person responsible for what takes place in this school, in accordance with the will of the founder of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*, my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*. No doubt you will endeavor to increase the number of its students and you will communicate the details to me, with success. On the occasion of the festival of Shavuos*, which approaches for the good, I send you my blessing to celebrate this festival in joy, to receive the Torah* deeply, and to obtain all that is good,

You will kindly convey my greetings to the Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav L. Motshkin, and wish him a good festival. I am enclosing the talk of Lag BaOmer*, whose text has not been reviewed by the Rebbe*. You will endeavor to have it delivered to Poking (note 6: A refugee camp in Germany, where many Chassidim* who had managed to escape from Russia were located). No doubt you will find a good opportunity for this. I thank you.

מו״ח אדמו״ר נשיא ישראל ,וכהוספה לשיחה הראשונה בהתועדות
בקשר ליום ההילולא ,מוצאי שבת קדש פרשת שירה ,שהעתקתה מצו״ב.
ברצוני להדגיש גם במכתב זה את הזכות המיוחדת)ובד בבד גם את
האחריות( של נשי ישראל בכלל ,ושל נשי ובנות חב״ד בפרט ,בביצוע ממשי
של האמור בשיחה ,אודות התמסרות לחינוך הקודש של ילדי ישראל.
כפי שרואים בפועל ,שחינוך ,ובמיוחד בשנים הראשונות ,תלוי
בעיקר ,או לגמרי ,באשה.
ובכלל הרי אצל נשי ישראל ,שלש המדות שבהן העם היהודי
מצטיין :רחמנים ביישנים גומלי חסדים ,מתבטאות במידה חזקה ביותר.
והמידות רחמים וגמילות חסדים הרי הן חשובות ביותר בחינוך ילדים.
והשי״ת יעזור ,שתעשינה באמור בבריאות טובה ובמצב רוח טוב -
חדורים בחמימות ואור חסידותיים ,והוא יתן להן הצלחה בזה.
