Rav Sh. M. (note 1: Rav Shalom Mendel Kalmenson, then in Prague. See, regarding him, letter no. 7805. This letter was written on the letterhead of a Parisian hotel),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter of 10 Sivan*. It would be good to address yourself, in a dignified manner, to the Joint (note 2: Committee for the aid to refugees) of your city, in the name of the school Beis Sarah (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 7808), which is a branch of other schools located in various places, all bearing the same name and under the direction of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*. However, this institution must be autonomous (note 4: Literally: "be alive and support itself"), especially since its students are the daughters of refugees, which falls squarely within the domain of action of the Joint. You will therefore ask them to allocate a monthly subsidy, according to the needs that you will communicate to them. Regarding the study program, I have written to New York, as I mentioned in my previous letter (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 7808).

I am enclosing the account of the words that were spoken (note 5: By the Rebbe Rayatz*) during this festival of Shavuos*, as well as an inquiry form about the Beis Sarah and about its Mesibos Shabbos*, which, without a doubt, you also direct. I intend to travel tomorrow, with success, to the United States. I will therefore be brief. This is also one of the reasons why the present letter is written with a black pencil. You will kindly excuse me for this. I therefore conclude by greeting all of yours and wishing you all the best,

במענה על מכתבו מיו"ד סיון,

נכון הדבר שיפנו במלאכות נכבדה אל הדזיונט שבמחנם, בשם המוסד "בית שרה", הסניף מביה"ס "בתי שרה" אשר בכמה מקומות, שעומדים תחת הנהלת המ.ל.ח. אבל צ"ל חי נושא את עצמו (ובפרט שהתלמידות מבנות הפליטים ולכן נכנס זה בחוג עבודת הדזיונט), ובמילא מבקשים שיקציבו ע"ז סכום מדי חדש בחדשו ע"פ התקציב אש יגישו וכו'.

בנוגע לתכנית הלמודים כבר כתבתי עד"ז לניו יארק, וכמ"ש במכ' הקודם.

מוסג"פ הר"ד מחה"ש העבר, כן גליון-אנקעטע בשביל הבית שרה והמסיבות שבת, אשר בטח ג"ז מתנהל על-ידם.

בדעתי לנסוע מחר לארה"ב צלחה ולכן אקצר. וזהו ג"כ אחת הסיבות לכתיבה בעפרון, ואתו הסליחה.
