Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Moshe (note 1: Rav M. Simon),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your donation intended to cover the needs of the children (note 2: Survivors of the Shoah*) in Europe and I thank you for it. You will find enclosed a receipt. The importance of saving the youth in Europe morally, with the help of Hashem, is, in our days, even greater than that of their physical salvation. It involves, indeed, keeping their souls alive, for it is only in that case that existence has meaning.

In addition to the financial aid that you provide to our work, your recognition of the merit of our actions gives us particular satisfaction. We hope that you will not be content with this donation and that you will collect, from your friends and acquaintances, sums intended for this sacred work. As our Sages say, in tractate Avos*, chapter 5, Mishnah* 13, one must indeed be "generous with one's own possessions and generous with the possessions of others." Awaiting your good news, very soon,
