Festival of the Liberation 5708 (note 1: Of 19 Kislev* 1947),

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to

communal needs, Rav M. (note 2: Rav Moshe Gurary, of Tel Aviv. See, regarding him, letter no. 418),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned, some time ago, that you arrived safely and that your brother-in-law arrived as well. For the time being, here is the subject of the present letter:

A) You will kindly specify to me, in a separate letter on the letterhead of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*, the amount of funds that were collected and that you handed over to Rav Ch. L. (note 3: Rav Chaim Liebermann), when you were here, as well as their allocation between the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*, the Kehot* editions, and the Machaneh*. This surely requires a significant effort, but I see no other means of obtaining the necessary clarifications.

B) At the end of the manuscripts of the Mitteler Rebbe* that you sent to my father-in-law (note 4: See the Igros Kodesh* of the Rebbe Rayatz*, volume 9, at letter no. 3146 and in the notes), the Rebbe* Shlita*, there is a halachic* response that apparently follows upon another. Is it possible to obtain details about them? What is their content and who is their author?

C) If you have already made a decision regarding your participation (note 5: Financial) in the publication of the summaries of the Shaarei Orah*, of my father-in-law, the Rebbe* Shlita*, you will kindly let me know as quickly as possible. You will also specify to me the text (note 6: Of dedication) that should be printed in these works, in accordance with the teaching of our Sages according to which "it is a Mitzvah* to make known those who accomplish a Mitzvah*." Indeed, your brother-in-law, before departing from here, told me that you would grant your contribution.

D) I would like to remind you of your promise to endeavor, upon your arrival, to collect the pledges of donation that were made on the occasion of Simchas Torah* (note 7: From the reading of the verses preceding the Hakafos*, donations for the benefit of the Lubavitch institutions), by the Chassidim* of Tel Aviv. I thank you in advance for everything that you will be able to do in this matter. I am enclosing a booklet that has just appeared, on the occasion of 19 Kislev*. You will confirm its reception to me and no doubt you will make it available to the greatest number. I conclude by sending you my blessing on the occasion of the Festival of the Liberation (note 8: Of 19 Kislev*), as well as for all that is good, in all domains. I greet all of yours and wish you all the best,

שמעתי זה מכבר ע"ד בואו צלחה וכן אודות בוא גיסו בזמנו..

ועתה באתי ע"ד:

א) מטובו להודיע במכ', בגליון בפ"ע וע"ש המל"ח, איזה סכומים וכמה מהשייכים להמל"ח קה"ת ומחנה נכנסו בסכום הכללי שנתן לרח"ל בהיותו כאן. בודאי טרחה רבה בדבר, אבל איני מוצא דרך אחר לברר כל ענין זה.

ב) בסוף העתק כתבי אדהאמצ"ע ששלח לכ"ק מו"ח אד"ש ישנה שו"ת אחת

וכנראה באים אחרי' עוד שו"ת, ואולי אפשר לברר אודותם ותוכנם ומי מחברם.

ג) אם כבר החליט אודות השתתפותו בהוצאות הדפסת קיצורי שערי אורה אשר לכ"ק מו"ח אד"ש, מטובו להודיעני בהקדם ולהודיע ג"כ הנוסח שרוים שיודפס בס' הנ"ל (ע"פ מרז"ל מצוה לפרסם עושי מצוה).

גיסו אמר לי קודם נסעו מכאן שישתתף כבו'.

ד) באתי להזכירו ע"ד הבטחתו להשתדל תיכף לבואו ע"ד סילוק השייך לאתה הראת מאנ"ש דת"א. ות"ח למפרע על טרחתו בכ"ז.
