I greet you and bless you,

I am enclosing the brochure of Dr. Grotsendler, which you lent me. I thank you for it. I wrote to him and I am enclosing a copy of this letter (note 2: It refers to letter no. 7843). After having read it, you will kindly return it to me.

To follow up on what we discussed before your trip, it seems that you contracted a debt, under your personal responsibility, while you were still in Worcester (note 3: See, on this subject, the Toldos Chabad Be'Artzos HaBris, at page 244). You are therefore still indebted for three hundred forty Shekels*. Without a doubt, in accordance with your promise and given the situation of the Merkos L'Inyonei Chinuch*, you will endeavor to repay this amount as quickly as possible. On behalf of the Merkos*, I thank you in advance. Awaiting your good news, I conclude by wishing you to be inscribed and sealed for a good year, together with the members of your family and Rachel (note 4: The daughter of Rav Hecht, bearing the name of the Rebbe's maternal grandmother. בהמשך למה שדברנו עוד קודם נסיעתו נתברר שמפני שלוה על אחריותו הפרטית עוד בהיותו בוואוסטער נ"ח עדיין שלש מאות וארבעים שקל, ובודאי כהבטחתו ובהתחשב עם המצב של המל"ח ישתדל שיסולק חוב זה בהקדם היותר אפשרי, ות"ח בשם המל"ח מראש.
