To the Rav, distinguished and pleasant Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Sh. (note 1: Rav Shalom Posner. See, regarding him, letter no. 7853),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 13 Nissan*. As disagreeable as this may have been, I addressed this person, who told me that she had received a letter from this woman on this subject. It seems that it is absolutely impossible for her to send the sum mentioned in the letter that was addressed to me. Nevertheless, she will endeavor to send a certain amount and she will transmit, in addition, the equivalent value of the merchandise that she possesses in Pittsburgh. For your part, you will try to arrange all of this, to every possible extent (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 7853). You surely received, in its time, my letter, to which a booklet was attached. Wishing you all the best,

מכתבו מי"ג ניסן קבלתי, ולמרות האי-נימות שבדבר דברתי עם...שי', אמר לי שקבל מכ' ממרת... ג"כ בענין זה.

והנה שישלח הסכום המוזכר במכתבו אלי, כנראה שאינו בגדר האפשרי כלל וכלל, אבל ישתדל לשלוח איזה סכום וימסור לרשותם ג"כ פדיון הסחורה שלו הנמצאת בפיטסבורג.

ובודאי כת"ר מצדו יראה גם כן לשכך הענין עד כמה שאפשר.
