By the grace of Hashem,

7 Iyar* 5710,

I greet you and bless you,

Your letter was transmitted to me, for you had noted my name on the envelope, but, upon opening it, I saw that it was addressed to the house of our life (note 1: To the Rebbe. Officially, the Rebbe had not yet accepted to assume the succession of his father-in-law) and I therefore do not know what your intention was (note 2: The Rebbe does not accept the idea of being himself considered the leader of the generation). Consequently, I transmitted your letter to "the wife of the sage" who "is like the sage," that is, to my mother-in-law, the Rebbetzin* (note 3: Wife of the Previous Rebbe).

Your name and those of your children, which you mention in your letter, were cited near the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may he rest in peace. I also read them in the sanctuary where he would grant audiences and where people would ask him for blessings. May Hashem grant that those he bestowed be fully and very soon realized. Wishing you all the best,

שלום וברכה!

נמסר לי מכתבו, כי כתב שמי על המעטפה, אבל בפתחי אותו ראיתיו כתוב לבית חיינו, ואיני יודע כוונתו בכ"ז, ולכן מסרתי מכתבו לאשת חבר כחבר, היא כבוד חמותי הרבנית תחי'.

שמו ושמות בניו שיחיו שמזכיר במכתבו נזכרו על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ. וכן הזכרתים בהיכלו שבו נכנסים ליחידות ולנתינת פדיונות.

ויהי רצון שיקויימו ברכות כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, על מילואן בקרוב ממש.
