12 Elul* 5710,

To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Yonah (note 1: Rav Y. Eidelkopf. See, regarding him, letter no. 6269),

I greet you and bless you,

I am responding to your letter, in which you tell me that you are preparing to ascend to our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, and you request my blessing on this matter. I therefore send you my wishes that this journey take place at its proper time, that it go well, and that it be easy. There, you will settle in the manner that is fitting, both materially and spiritually.

You surely know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe (note 2: See, on this subject, letters no. 711 and 736), may he rest in peace, according to which one must make Eretz Yisrael* the Holy Land. Now, there is a principle, in the domain of holiness, according to which the result is proportional to the effort (note 3: Literally, "the mark on the back of the camel depends on the weight of the burden"). You will therefore meditate on this and endeavor to put into practice the words of the master, our leader, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may he rest in peace.

No doubt you have a fixed time for the study of the Torah*, in particular for the teachings of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, may he rest in peace. This is in addition to the studies that apply to everyone (note 4: It refers to the daily studies of the Chumash*, according to the Sidrah* of the week, with the commentary of Rashi*, the Tehillim*, according to their monthly division, and the Tanya*, according to its annual division), as indicated in the study guide. With my blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

בטח יש לו קביעת עתים בתורה בכלל, ובלימוד תורת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ בפרט, נוסף על השיעורים השוים לכל נפש, כמבואר במורה שיעור.
