To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Shneur Zalman (note 1: Rav Sh. Z. Duchman. See, regarding him, letter no. 7859),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of 19 Iyar*. It seems that you wrote it quickly, for several points are not comprehensible. The story regarding the eyeglasses of the Rebbe Maharash* (note 2: Related by Rav Duchman in his book, LeShema Ozen, at page 82) was indeed related by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in the name of Rav M. Manesohn, who experienced it himself in Marienbad.
