Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7893 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 21 · Letter 137 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem,

3 Kislev* 5712,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Michoel Yehudah (note 1: Rav M. Y. Schwartzkopf, of Paris),

I greet you and bless you,

I received, with pleasure, your letter of 23 Cheshvan*, informing me that your state of health has improved. Furthermore, the doctor says that there is good hope that this improvement will continue. Without making a vow of it, I will accede to your request and I will mention your name, so that you may have a speedy recovery, near the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us. I hope that, in your next letter, you will be able to tell me that you are feeling better and better.

In general, in such a case, one must follow the advice of the doctor, avoid climbing stairs. Simultaneously, one should strengthen one's trust in Hashem, Who heals all flesh and performs wonders. It will indeed be so, in your case. The greater your trust, the closer your improvement in health and your recovery will be. I hope that, from time to time, you receive visits from our friends (note 2: The Chassidim* residing in Paris), in particular from Rav Shneur Zalman Butman (note 3: See, regarding him, letter no. 7812). With my blessing,
