To the young man, Mr. Avraham Yitzchak (note 1: Rav A. I. Shem Tov. See, regarding him, the preceding letter),

I greet you and bless you,

I duly received your letter of the second day of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev*, in which you ask me for a blessing of attachment (note 2: To be attached to the Rebbe), as well as for success in your study. I have written to you, as well as to your two friends, Mr. Shalom Dov Ber Futerfass and Mr. Shmuel Dovid Gurkov (note 3: This refers to the preceding letter). Without a doubt, you will read that letter with the appropriate attention and you will put into practice the points that are mentioned therein, for such is the attachment that is desirable. I await your good news on this matter. With my blessing for success and for studying the Torah* with fear of Hashem,

קבלתי מכתבו מבדר"ח כסלו ובו פ"נ בקשה להתקשרות ולהצלחה בלימוד וכו'.

והנה כתבתי מכתב לו ולשני חבריו מר שלום דובער פוטערפאס ומר שמואל דוד גורקאוו שיחיו, ובטח יקראוהו בשימת לב הראוי' ולהביא לפועל את כל הענינים האמורים במכתבי, שזה התקשרות הנדרשת. ואחכה לבשו"ט בזה.
