Our (note 2: This is the foreword to a talk of the Rebbe Rayatz*, delivered before a group of women, during his visit to Riga, from 12 to 20 Adar* 5694 (1934), which was printed in Iyar* 5712. It is the talk that is mentioned in this text) Sages say that it is by the merit (note 3: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "Tractate Sotah* 11b, according to the version of the Yalkut Shimoni* Tehillim*, paragraph 795") of the virtuous women of the generation that Israel was redeemed from Egypt. They explain and relate at length in what manner, despite the yoke of exile, the harshness of the servitude and the persecutions, these women constituted immense cohorts of sons and daughters of Israel. They formed a generation that proclaimed, with joy and singing (note 4: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "Vocal song and with tambourines. See the Likkutei Torah*, Parshas* Berachah*, page 98c"): "This is my Elokim and I wish to adorn Him, the Elokim of my father and I wish to exalt Him."

The Holy One, blessed be He, gave us the following assurance: "As in the days of your exodus from Egypt, I will show them wonders," at the future redemption, which will come very soon and in our days, through our righteous Moshiach*. Thus, "all the signs (note 5: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "Zohar*, volume 2, page 9a"), the miracles and the mighty deeds that the Holy One, blessed be He, accomplished in Egypt, He will perform again for Israel" and "it is by the merit (note 6: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "At the beginning of the page") of the children of the house of Rav that the power" of King Moshiach* will be strengthened.

It is now as it was at that time. Everything depends on the women of Israel, as this talk explains. The fate of the sons and daughters of Israel is in their hands. The mission, the obligation, the merit of these women consist of not taking into account the darkness of the exile, the harshness of the servitude and the persecutions that wish to cause the disappearance, which may Hashem prevent, of the soul of our sons and our daughters, in edifices foreign to the Tradition of Israel, opposing the faith in the one Elokim, Who gives, in the present tense, the one Torah* to Israel, a unique nation on the earth.

They will therefore make of their home a house of holiness, consecrated to His Name. They will strengthen the education of their sons and their daughters, on the foundation of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*. Thus, "the celestial Mother (note 7: The Rebbe notes at the bottom of the page: "See the Pri Etz Chaim*, Gate of the Festival of Matzos*, chapter 6, paragraph Mahariy Zal") will be revealed, King Moshiach* will be unveiled. He will gather the exile from the ends of the earth, to the end of the world."

אמרו רבותינו ז"ל: 1בזכות נשים צדקניות שהיו באותו הדור (של יציאת מצרים) נגאלו ישראל מצרים. ומבארים ומספרים בארוכה, איך אשר למרות עול הגלות, קושי השעבוד והגזירות הקימו עדרים עדרים של בני ובנות ישראל, הקימו דור אשר הכריז בשמחה בשירה 8ובזמרה: זה א-לי ואנוהו אלקי אביו ארוממנהו.

הבטיחנו הקב"ה: כימי צאתך מארץ מצרים אראנו נפלאות, בגאולה העתידה לבוא במהרה בימינו על ידי משיח צדקנו, "כל 3אתין ונסין וגבוראן דעבד קוב"ה במצרים יעביד לון לישראל" "4ובזכות ינוקי דבי רב יתתקף חילי לאתגברא", של מלך המשיח.

וכאז כן עתה, תלוי זה בנשי ישראל, וכמבואר בהשיחה, אשר בידן הוא גורל הבנים והבנות.

תפקידן חובתן וזכותן של נשי ישראל הוא, אשר מבלי חת מחושך הגלות, קושי השעבוד והגזירות אשר רוצים לשקעות, הי' לא תהי', את נפש בנינו ובנותינו בבנינים זרים לרוח ישראל סבא, מנגדים לאמונת הוי' אחד, הנותן, לשון הוה, תורה אחת לישראל גוי אחד בארץ,

הנה יעשו את ביתן בית קדושה לשמו ית', ויבססו את חינוך בניהן ובנותיהן על יסודי התורה והמצוה.

ואז "3אימא 5עילאה יתערת.. ומלכא משיחא שארי ויכנוש גלותא מסיפי עלמא עד סייפי עלמא".
