By the grace of Hashem,

3 Iyar* 5712,

To the leaders of the committee of Kfar Chabad*,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

A) I am responding to your letter of 25 Nissan* and I read in it, with pleasure, that your effort was crowned with success and that you will remain in your current location (note 1: A relocation of Kfar Chabad* was, in fact, being considered. See, on this subject, letter no. 1566). In this way, you will indeed be able to remain all together. Although you do not write it clearly, you will surely retain all the rights that were granted to you when you settled in Kfar Chabad*.

B) The time has come to see to it that the population of the Kfar increases, among all the Chassidim* and also among those who are close to them in spirit, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, in particular young couples and young men who, for certain reasons, cannot study all day at the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, but who can, nevertheless, accept the obligation and the merit of studying a few hours and of living in a Chassidic* Chabad* environment, throughout the day and even at night. Given the housing difficulties in the Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, one must hope that you will be able to choose the best among those who wish to settle in the Kfar.

C) Whether we wish it or not, we occupy the place of the Chabad* Chassidim* of previous generations and of those that preceded them, up to the discerning generation of the Chassidim* of the Alter Rebbe*, founder of the Chabad* teaching. From generation to generation, they paved the way for us and all that remains for us is to complete the "small vessels" (note 2: Minor accomplishments). Nevertheless, it belongs to us ourselves and to our generation to bring to completion the transformation of this period of the heel of Moshiach* (note 3: When the footsteps of Moshiach* begin to be heard), to bring to light the revelation of Moshiach*, here below, in a concrete manner, in this material world.

A cursory reflection on all of this suffices to make one tremble. All the awesome promises that have been stated by our Sages regarding Moshiach* and the revelations that will be obtained then, in particular according to the explanations of Chassidus*, depend on our accomplishments at the present time. I send you my blessing for success in your sacred mission. May Hashem grant you the merit of using concretely, not only through your Divine soul, but also through your human intellect, the favor that Hashem has granted you, the possibility of bringing your contribution to my father-in-law, the Rebbe, in building the Sanctuary of Chabad* in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt. במענה על מכתבם מכ"ה ניסן שמחתי לקרות בו אשר עלתה בידם ההשתדלות לפעול שישארו במקומם עתה ובמילא יהיו כולם ביחד, ובטח אף שאין כותבים עד"ז בפירוש, שיה'י להם כל הזכיות שהבטיחו להם בעת שהתיישבו בכפר חב"ד.

ב) כבר באה העת להשתדל להרבות מספר המתיישבים בהכפר מבין שאר אנ"ש והקרובים לאנ"ש ברוח, הנמצאים באה"ק ת"ו, ובפרט מהצעירים הנשואים, וגם מבני הנוער אשר מפני סיבות אינם שייכים ללמוד כל היום בישיבת תומכי תמימים, אבל אפשר לחייב אותם ולזכותם בלימוד איזה שעות ובחיים של סביבה חסידותית חבדי"ת כל היום כולו לרבות הלילה, ובקשר עם הדוחק בדירות השורר באה"ק ת"ו יש לקוות שהברירה תהי' בידם לבחור עידית מבין אלו שירצו להתיישב בהכפר...

ה)... אם ברצוננו או שלא ברצוננו הנה אנחנו ממלאים מקומם של חסידי חב"ד בדורות שלפנינו ולפני פנינו עד הדור דיעה של חסידי כ"ק רבינו הזקן מיסד תורת חב"ד ודור אחר דור סללו בשבילנו את הדרך ולא נשאר לנו אלא להשלים ה"פכים קטנים".

ומאידך גיסא הנה עלינו ועל דורנו מוטלת החובה לסיים את הבירורים דעקבתא דמשיחא ולהמשיך גילוי המשיח למטה מעשרה טפחים בעוה"ז הגשמי.

ואפילו בהתבוננות שעה קלה בענינים אלו הרי צריך לאחוז חיל ורעדה אשר כל ענינים הנוראים האמורים בדברי רז"ל בענינים דמשיח והגילוים שאז ובפרט כפי המבואר בדא"ח הנה כ"ז תלוי בעבודתינו אנו..

בברכת הצלחה בעבודתם בקדש ויזכם השי"ת זיי זאלן דערפילען לא רק בהנפה"א כ"א גם בשכל האנושי אשר זיכם השי"ת להיות מהמסייעים בעבודתם של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר בבנין היכל חב"ד באה"ק ת"ו.
