By the grace of Hashem,
16 Sivan* 5712,
Brooklyn,
To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to
communal needs, Rav Avraham,
I greet you and bless you,
I receive with pleasure, from time to time, your news as well as those of your activities, in the domains of the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, in general, and for the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Montreal, in particular. Now, one knows the saying (note 1: See, on this subject, letter no. 7882) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which he transmitted in the name of his father (note 2: The Rebbe Rashab*), according to which: "the Holy One, blessed be He, does not remain in debt." Those who make efforts to transmit to Jewish children, to every Jew who is the only son of Hashem (note 3: Each of them, individually, is the only son of Hashem), physical and moral vitality by giving him the opportunity to study the Torah* of Hashem, themselves receive from Him increased vitality (note 4: The recipient of this letter presumably suffered from a health problem), that is to say, in the simplest sense, good health, success in all that concerns them, in general and in particular. In this way, there is fulfilled in them the promise of the Alter Rebbe*, which we heard many times from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, according to which: "Hashem lavishes material goods upon Jews so that they may make of them spirituality."
May Hashem grant you long days and good years, which will be good in all domains, so that you may strengthen your action, in a largely increased proportion, in particular for the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Montreal and, more generally, to elevate the lot of Israel. With my blessing,
