may Hashem grant you long life,
I greet you and bless you,
Beyond the passing (note 1: Of the Previous Rebbe), one sees clearly that everything continues to unfold according to his spirit and that the success transcends the ways of nature. I therefore reiterate my words. I have no intention whatsoever of provoking discouragement and resignation. Nevertheless, in the future, "the mind must rule the heart" (note 2: The reflective attitude prevails over emotionality), including when it concerns an emotion and a sensitivity belonging to the domain of holiness. In this regard, you will also consult the Chassidic* discourse of the Tzemach Tzedek* that was printed on the occasion of Chanukah* 5711 (note 3: 1950. This is the Chassidic* discourse entitled: "Blessed is He Who performed miracles," found in the Or HaTorah*, Bereishis*, volume 5, page 957b. The introduction is at page 1014a-b of the same work) and its introduction. You will tell me that the lights have been placed into the vessels (note 4: That normal functioning has been restored), even if outwardly, nothing should be visible. Nowadays, indeed, especially in the places where you are, one must show that one possesses many lights, in order to vanquish the deep and dark gloom.
I await your letter announcing good news. You will tell me that the work is being carried out in a normal manner. This will be the case in particular for the development of the institutions. With my blessing for success in your sacred mission,

אכפול את דבריי, שאין כוונתי כלל לפעול נפילת ונמיכת הרוח, ורק שעכ"פ מכאן ולהבא יהי' מוח שליט על הלב אפילו על התרגשות והתפעלות דקדושה, ויעויין ג"כ במאמר של הצ"צ הנדפס לחנוכה תשי"א בההקדמה שם.
ואחכ לבשו"ט מאתם, שנתיישבו האורות בכלים, אף שכלפי חוץ אין צ"ל ניכר זה, כי בימינו אלה ובפרט במקומות שם הם נמצאים, הרי צריך להראות אורות רבים כדי לבקע את החושך כפול ומכופל.
