By the grace of Hashem,

Fifth light of Chanukah* (note 1: The 29th of Kislev*) 5713,

To all the members of the congregation of Yeshurun* (note 2: Of the Jewish people),

strengthening themselves in the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, in every place,

may Hashem grant you long life,

I greet you and bless you,

The action and development of the center of the Yeshivos* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch* were introduced in the United States by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit protects us, and they were carried out according to his instruction, from the time of his arrival in America, in 5700 (note 3: 1940). Thank Hashem, through the merit of our holy masters, this action has borne fruit and it has known considerable and divine success. Nowadays, several hundred students, may Hashem multiply them, having been trained in these Yeshivos*, have become Rabbanim*, teachers, deans of Yeshivos*, Shochtim*, or occupy other sacred functions, within important Jewish communities. And, the former students, having received their education at the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*, who earn their livelihood in another way, hold fast to their sacred mission, so that each one effectively disseminates the Torah* and the fear of Hashem, so that all take a preponderant part in actions to strengthen Judaism, in the places where they reside.

The development and flourishing of this institution have also had the effect of swelling the overall expenses associated with it. Lately, the debts have become very significant, beyond what can be borne. They call into question the very existence of this institution. They considerably weigh down its administration and its development. Concrete help is therefore indispensable, as quickly as possible.

For this reason, I address, through the present letter, all those who cherish and respect the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, to ask them, in an insistent and repeated manner, to come to the aid of the center of the Yeshivos* Tomchei Temimim* Lubavitch*, to bring a sacred contribution, with a generous heart and an open hand, to influence their acquaintances and their close ones, in order to lighten, at least to a certain extent, the weight of the debts, to give this institution the means to operate in the future, with the help of Hashem.

Our Sages assure us that the immense merit deriving from the support that one brings to those who study the Torah* of life, the Words of the living Elokim, protects those who act in this domain and those who cause others to act. May all therefore be blessed with all good — children, health, and prosperity. I express the wish and the blessing that we all merit, very soon, the elevation of the lot of the Torah*, of the lot of the Tradition of Israel, so that "the earth be filled with the knowledge of Hashem." Wishing you well, both materially and spiritually,

"מרכז הישיבות תומכי תמימים-ליובאוויטש", אשר עבודתו והתפתחותו בארצות הברית התחילה על ידי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע ובפקודתו - תיכף להתישבותו באמריקה בשנת ה'ש"ת, הנה

ת"ל, ובזכות הוד כ"ק אבותינו נשיאנו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, עשה פרי בהצלחה אלקית מופלגה, וכהיום הרי הרבה מאות תלמידים - כן ירבו - מישיבות אלו מכהנים פאר בתור רבנים, ראשי מתיבתות וראשי ישיבות, שובי"ם ושאר משרות קודש בקהלות חשובות בישראל. גם אלו מהתלמידים ומחונכי ישיבות תומכי-תמימים המתפרנסים באופן אחר - הנה על משמרתם במשמרת הקודש הם עומדים, לעבוד, כל אחד לפי מעמדו, ומצבו, בשדה הרבצת תורה ויראת שמים ולקחת חלק בראש בהעסקנות של חיזוק היהדות בכל מושבותיהם.

יחד הם הגדלת והפרחת המוסד גדלו ג"כ ההוצאות הכרוכות בכלכלתו לכל סעיפיו, עד כי בעת האחרונה נתרבו החובות ועלו למעלה ראש ומזעזעים את קיומו של המוסד ומכבידים במאד את הנהלתו והתפתחותו

עזרה ממשית נחוצה בהקדם האפשרי.

והנני פונה בזה לכל חובבי ומוקירי תורה ומצוה בבקשה ודרישה כפולה וכופלת לבוא לעזרת מרכז הישיבות תומכי תמימים - ליובאוויטש, ולתרום תרומת הקדש בלב נדיב וביד פתוחה, ולהשפיע גם על ידידיהם ומכיריהם בכיוון זה, בכדי להקל, על כל פנים במדה ידועה, את עול החובות ולתת את האפשריות לנהל עבודת המוסד להבא, בעזה"י.

ומובטחים אנו מחז"ל אשר גדולה זכות החזקת לומדי תורת חיים, דברי אלקים חיים, מקור חיים - להגן על כל העושים והמעשים ושיתברכו בכל מילי דמיטב, בבני חיי ומזוני רוויחי.

באיחול ובברכה אשר בעגלא דידן נזכה כולנו לראות בהרמת קרן התורה וקרן ישראל סבא ומלאה הארץ דעה את הוי'.
