A) I have just received your letter with a report, although brief, on the actions that were carried out during the month of Kislev*. I thank you for it. No doubt you are also endeavoring that your plowing and your planting allow a subsequent harvest (note 1: See, on this subject, letters no. 7980, 8179, and 8196), so that the effect be recognizable subsequently, for a prolonged duration. It is clear that this requires attention, including after the end of the month of Kislev*. It will therefore be necessary to stay in contact (note 2: With the people who were brought closer to Jewish practice during these actions), by letter or by meeting, from time to time, in each place according to its conditions.

B) I duly received your telegram proposing to publish and disseminate the account of the imprisonment (note 3: Of the Previous Rebbe in the Soviet prisons, from which he was liberated on 12 Tammuz* 5687 (1927)), which appeared in Tammuz*, for the day of the Hilloula* (note 4: Of the Previous Rebbe), 10 Shevat*, which approaches. Indeed, it is appropriate to reflect on this matter, for this account is only partial. In any case, if, after reflection, you decide to publish and disseminate it, you will also need to translate the terms that are in Yiddish or in Russian, for a large portion of those who will read it will be Yemenites and Sephardim*.

C) The Bitaon* (note 5: The Bitaon Chabad, organ of the Chabad* youth association in the Holy Land), for the time being, should be like the Kovetz* (note 6: The Kovetz Lubavitch, a previous publication that had ceased to appear) and not like the HaTamim* (note 7: The organ of the Yeshivah* students, which had also ceased to appear).

ובטח משתדלים ג"כ שהמחרישה והזריעה שלהם תהי' אח"כ קצירה ורושם קיים גם לאחר זמן, אשר בודאי זה דורש שימת לב גם אחר חודש כסלו וקישור, אם במכתבים או בראי' פא"פ מזמן לזמן בכל מקום ומושב לפי ענינו.

ב) נתקבל המברק אודות הצעתם להדפיס ולהפיץ רשימת המאסר שנדפסה בתמוז, ליום ההילולא דיו"ד שבט הבע"ל. והנה בכלל יש להתבונן בזה כיון שזהו רק חלק מהרשימה. ובכ"ז אם לאחר ההתבוננות יחליטו להדפיסה ולהפיצה, הרי כיון שחלק חשוב מאלו שתבוא אליהם הם מהתימנים והספרדים יש לצרף העתק המלים שבאו בהרשימה באידיש או ברוסית...

ה) הבטחון, לע"ע צ"ל ע"ד הקובץ ולא ע"ד "התמים".

ו) בודאי מכאן ולהבא יכתבו לעתים קרובות יותר, והשי"ת יזכם, אז עס זאל זיין אודות מה לכתוב און וועגען לעבעדיקע פרייליכע זאכען.
