Igrot Kodesh · Letter 7943 — Health
Volume 21 · Letter 187 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu et se
By the grace of Hashem,
6 Shevat* 5713,
Brooklyn,
To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and
devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav...,
I greet you and bless you,
It is with pleasure and joy that I received your letter, which you began writing on 19 Teves*. You describe to me in what manner the month of Tishrei* and the period that followed it went. I am particularly satisfied to note that you have acknowledged the exactitude of the conclusion, and I am certain that this will serve you as a lesson, that you will henceforth understand that a Jew is the emissary of the Holy One, blessed be He. And, if one imagines oneself to be weak, physically or morally, it is because one forgets, momentarily, that one is the emissary of Hashem, Whose forces are without end and without limit. Conversely, when one is conscious of being the emissary of Hashem, one knows success and one attains health, including physically, in the most literal sense.
May Hashem grant you further positive missions, for long days and long years. You will carry them out with joy and with a better state of health. You will also be able to give me good news of the health of your wife. After this Shabbos*, on Monday, 10 Shevat*, will be the Hilloula* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. In accordance with your request, I will then mention your name (note 1: Near the tomb of the Previous Rebbe) and that of your wife. I enclose a short biography (note 2: Of the Previous Rebbe) in Yiddish, which has been published these days and which will be useful to you, in the influence that you exercise upon those around you. With my blessing for a speedy recovery, for yourself and for your wife, as well as for good health, and awaiting your good news,
