Some time ago already, the series of the Sdei Chemed* (note 2: Halachic* encyclopedia by Rav Chizkiya Medini) was sent to you, then, now, a second series. In general, the publication of this work has cost a veritable fortune, which I did not imagine at the outset. Of course, without the donations that were given specifically for this purpose, these volumes would never have seen the light of day, and this is true also for the last volume that is currently in press. Indeed, the proceeds from sales are insignificant and there are, furthermore, additional expenses. Without a doubt, Hashem will grant success. With my blessing of good health, for yourself and for your family, as well as for earning your livelihood generously,

בכלל עלו הוצאות הדפסה של השדי חמד לסכום עצום שלא שיערתי מראש. ומובן, אשר לולי עזרת הנדבות ביחוד לתכלית זו לא הי' נדפסים הכרכים שעד עתה, וכן הכרך האחרון הנמצא עתה בדפוס, כי ההכנסה ממכירת הספרים פעוטה היא למאד, וגם - זה קשור עם הוצאות נוספות, ובטח יצליח השי"ת.
