To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to

communal needs, Rav Moshe Pinchas HaCohen (note 1: Rav M. P. Katz. See, regarding him, letter no. 7765),

I greet you and bless you,

I took note, with pleasure, of the organization of the Melaveh Malkah*, the meal of Dovid the anointed king, in your home, at the conclusion of last Shabbos*. According to you, the results are meager and you are saddened by this. I am surprised by this, for one knows the saying of the Baal Shem Tov* (note 2: See, on this matter, letters no. 5439, 5911, 6522, and 8063), which we have heard many times from my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, according to which: "the beginning will be painful," but, precisely because of this, "the end will be very fruitful for you." It will surely be so, in this matter, both materially and spiritually.

May Hashem grant you the merit, as well as your wife and all the participants in this Chassidic* gathering, to gather many more times, in a Chassidic* context and with true joy. In this way, you will break through everything that veils and obstructs, until, for all of us, within all of Israel, the walls and the barriers disappear. Thus will be fulfilled, here below, the promise, relating to Dovid, the king Moshiach*, according to which: "Behold, he stands behind our wall." With my blessing for success,

נעם לי לקבל הודעתו אודות המלוה מלכה, סעודתא דדוד מלכא משיחא, שערך בביתו במוצש"ק העבר. ולפלא מה שמצטער על, שלפי השקפתו, התוצאה היא פעוטה, וכבר ידוע פתגם הבעש"ט, מה ששמענו מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע: והי' ראשיתך מצער - ועי"ז - ואחריתך ישגא מאד. ובודאי גם בנדון זה יהי' כן - הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות. והשי"ת יזכהו ואת זוגתו שיחיו וכל המתועדים בהתועדות זו, להועד עוד פעמים רבות בהתועדות חסידותית ובשמחה אמיתית, ולפרוץ עי"ז את הענינים המעלימים ומסתירים, עד אשר נזכה כולנו, בתוך כלל ישראל, שיוסרו הכתלים והמחיצות ויתגלה, למטה מעשרה טפחים, זה שנאמר עליו הנה זה עומד אחר כתלנו - הוא דודו מלכא משיחא.
