I have just received your letter in which you speak to me of your sons (note 1: This letter is addressed to Rav Alexander Sender Yudassin. See, regarding him, letter no. 6557). No doubt you make use of the influence you exercise upon them so that they be channels disseminating the wellsprings (note 2: Of Chassidus*) to the outside. This is, in particular, the case for your eldest son, Mr. Dovid, who works in the army. There, it is particularly necessary that he radiate through the luminaire of the Torah*, which is the teaching of Chassidus*, as well as through Chassidic* conduct and through what surrounds Chassidus*. Who knows whether he did not obtain this position for this purpose (note 3: These words paraphrase a verse from Megillas Esther*)? And, one knows the promise made by the Admur HaZaken* to those who would devote themselves to what concerns him. He gives them, indeed, the assurance that they would know success.

You ask why it is not indicated, at the end of Parshas* Pekudei*, the number of verses of the Sidrah*. One must consult the earliest editions for, in my view, this is merely an omission by a publisher, which was repeated by those who followed. But, perhaps it was originally written: "The sign is Bli Kol (without anything)," which means that there are, in this Sidrah*, ninety-two verses (note 4: The numerical value of the words Bli Kol). Then, the copyist interpreted this phrase in its literal sense (note 5: "Without any sign"), according to which there was no sign here. Through lack of knowledge, he therefore omitted these words. ... עתה נתקבל מכ' בו מודיע ע"ד בניו שיחיו, ובטח משתמש בהשפעתו עליהם שיהיו צנורות להפצת המעיינות חוצה, ובפרט בנו הבכור מר דוד שי' העובד בצבא, אשר שם מוכרח הדבר ביותר להאירם במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות והנהגה החסידותית און ארום חסידות. ומי יודע אם לעת כזאת הגיע למשרתו זו. וידועה הבטחת אדמו"ר הזקן לכל אלו המשתדלים בעניניו - שהבטיחוהו שיצליחו בזה.

בהערתו, מדוע לא סימנו בסוף פ' פקודי סכום פסוקי הסדרה, הנה יש לחפש בדפוסים הראשונים,כי לדעתי אין זה אלא השמטת המדפיס, ונמשך הדבר כן גם אצל שאר המדפיסים שבאו אחריו,

ואולי אפשר שהי' כתוב "בלי כל סימן", והכוונה בזה היתה שיש בסדרה צ"ב פסוקים, ובא הבחור הזעצער ותפס את הענין כפשוטו שאין כאן סימן, והשמיט מלות אלו מחסרון ידיעה.
