To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to

communal needs, Rav Shmuel Dovid HaLevi (note 1: Rav Sh. D. Raichik. See, regarding him, letter no. 7900),

emissary of the Sages (note 2: Charged with collecting funds for the institutions),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your list, with all those who appeared therein. It is surprising that, since Rav Ch. M. A. Hadakov (note 3: Rav Chaim Mordechai Aizik Hadakov, director of the Rebbe's secretariat) inquired, by telephone, about the state of health of your son and the opinion formulated by the doctors, there has been no news at all of him. But, no doubt there is a good sign in this (note 4: Just as one says: "no news, good news"). Nevertheless, you will signify this to me clearly.

You have surely taken advantage, in the fitting manner, of the special moment of 10 Kislev* (note 5: Holiday of the liberation of the Admur HaEmtzai*) and you will do the same for the holiday of the liberation (note 6: Of the Admur HaZaken*) of 19 Kislev* and the days of Chanukah*, which approach. If young men from the Yeshivah* Torah Vodaas are present, you will have them participate as well and you will write to me about this. I address to you my blessing on the occasion of the holiday of liberation and that you know supernatural success in your sacred mission. I also wish you blessing and success in what concerns you personally, for the good health of your wife, of your sons, and also for yourself.

The present letter was delayed and, in the meantime, the Chassid*, Rav Ch. M. A. (note 3), told me that the operation of your son has been delayed. Now, "every delay is for the good." Regarding your housing (note 7: See, on this subject, letter no. 7930), it would be good for you to purchase a house, with the fitting diligence, especially since certain people wish to help you do so, in a significant manner. I have duly received your express letter, with the request for blessing. May Hashem fulfill, for the good and for blessing, everything that is requested therein.

בודאי ניצל היומי דפגרא דיו"ד כסלו, וכן ינצל את חג הגאולה י"ט כסלו וימי החנוכה הבע"ל באופן המתאים (ואם נמצאים שם אברכים דישיבת תו"ד - בטח גם אותם ימשיך בהנ"ל) ויכתוב גם עד"ז.

בברכת חג הגאולה והצלחה בעבודתו בקודש למעלה מדרך הטבע, וברכות

והצלחות בעניניו הפרטים ולבריאות נכונה של זוגתו בניהם וגם הוא בעצמו בכלל.
