to communal needs, Rav Shalom (note 1: Rav Sh. Posner. See, regarding him, letter no. 7767),

I greet you and bless you,

I learned that the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Chananya Lippa Deutsch, visited your city and that he proposed some modifications to your Mikveh*, which are, according to him, very important. It seems that his words are correct. According to what I was told, the local Rabbanim* promised him to repair what needs to be repaired, but I am very much afraid that all of this will very quickly become an old story. I therefore rely on your understanding to ensure that these modifications be carried out as quickly as possible.

If need be, the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Z. Sh. Dvorkin (note 2: Rav Zalman Shimon Dvorkin, who was subsequently the Rav of Crown Heights, New York) will come to your aid. Of course, all of this must be accomplished without offending the honor of anyone (note 3: Among the local Rabbanim*), real or presumed. Indeed, what is at stake here is the purity of Jewish women. All of this must therefore be followed by concrete results, as quickly as possible. I await good news on this subject. With my blessing and awaiting these good news,

נודעתי אשר ביקר בעירם הרה"ג הוו"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ מוה"ר חנניא יו"ט ליפא שי' דייטש והציע איזה תיקונים בהמקוה דמחנם אשר לדעתו נחוצים הם בהחלט, וכנראה - נכונים דבריו, כפי שהודיעוני הנה הבטיחו אותו הרבנים דשם לתקן את הזקוק תיקון, אבל חוששני שלא יתארך הדבר ובמשך הזמן הנה גם יעשה לענין ישן, וכו', ואל בינת כת"ר שי' אשען, אשר ימצא הדרכים המתאימים לפעול שתתוקן המקוה בהקדם היותר אפשרי. ובודאי יסייעו בזה, אם נצרך הדבר, גם הרה"ג הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ מוהרז"ש שי' דווארקין. מובן אשר כל הנ"ל אפשר וצריך להעשות מבלי לנגוע בכבודו (האמיתי או המדומה) של מי שהוא, כי הרי הכוונה בכל הנ"ל היא טהרת בנות ישראל, ובמילא צריך להעשות הדבר באופן שיבוא הדבר לפועל ובהקדם, ואחכה לבשו"ט.
