I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your request for blessing for your wife. When I am near the holy tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, I will mention her name so that she have a speedy recovery. I await good news. On this occasion, I would like to emphasize to you once more what I have already told you on numerous occasions, orally. It is absolutely indispensable that you exercise your influence on your son, the Rav. Indeed, Hashem has granted him the merit of having a wide audience among the young Rabbanim* and he must therefore persuade them, in particular this man, who is one of them, to strengthen their fear of Hashem and to underline its importance, as well as that of the concrete practice of the Mitzvos*, in the synagogues and the communities to which these young rabbis belong. The same applies to the gatherings they announce from time to time. A year ago, an evolution was clearly manifesting itself in this matter, a shift to the right (note 1: A greater rigor). It will therefore be easy to continue in this direction or, a fortiori, not to allow a weakening, as has been the case in recent months.

I do not wish to elaborate or provide details in this matter, for without a doubt, your son, the Rav, knows all of this better than I. But perhaps he is not aware or does not believe that he can actually have an influence in this matter (note 2: See, on this subject, letter no. 8018). However, one must tell oneself that each of us, when he acts for the Torah* and the Mitzvos*, is the emissary of Hashem, blessed be He, of the Supreme King, the Holy One blessed be He. Now, it is said that: "the emissary of a man is like himself" and this is true also for the Heavenly Man, Who sits upon the Throne, as the Likkutei Torah* explains, at the beginning of Parshas* Vayikra*. One must therefore have the conviction of exercising such an influence. In this way, Hashem will grant success. In any event, each of us must fully carry out what is incumbent upon him and Hashem will do what is right in His eyes.

What has just been said applies to you as well. If you address your son, the Rav, orally or in writing, with words emanating from your heart, it is certain that you will succeed in convincing him. With my respects, my blessing, and awaiting your good news,

מאשר הנני קבלת הפ"נ בעד זוגתו תחי', וכבקשתו, כשאהי' על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקלל"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אזכירה לרפו"ק ואחכה לבשו"ט.

בהזדמנות זו הנני לעוררו עוד הפעם במה שהזכרתי לו איזה פעמים כשהתראינו פא"פ והוא אודות ההכרח הכי גדול שיפעל השפעתו על בנו הרב שי' אשר השי"ת זיכהו שנשמעים לקולו במדה חשובה בחוגי הרבנים הצעירים שי', שבנו ישפיע עליהם ועל..

שהוא חבר בו, שידגישו יותר ויתאמצו ביותר בעינים דיראת שמים ומצות מעשיות בפועל הן בהנוגע להבתי כנסיות והקהלות של הרבנים הצעירים והן בהנוגע להתאחדות השונות שהם מכריזים מזמן לזמן, וכיון ש[מ]לפ[נ]י שנה היתה ניכרת שם הזזה ותנועה לצד ימין הרי עתה בקל יותר להמשיך בזה ועאכו"כ שלא לתת מקום לחלישות כמו שנרגש בחדשים האחרונים.

אינני רוצה לפרט ולפרש פרטים בהנ"ל כי בודאי ידוע לבנו הרב שי' עוד יותר מאשר לי, אפשר שבנו שי' אינו מכיר או שאינו מאמין שיוכל להשפיע בזה, אבל בשים לב שכאו"א מאתנו כשפועל בענינים דתורה ומצות הרי הוא שלוחו של המקום ב"ה ממה"מ הקב"ה ושלוחו של אדם (העליון שעל הכסא ה"ה כביכול) כמותו (עיין לקו"ת ויקרא בתחלתו) הרי צריך ללכת בטח בדרך השפעה הנ"ל ואז מצליח השי"ת, ועכ"פ עלינו לעשות כאו"א המוטל עלינו בשלימות וה' הטוב בעיניו יעשה.

וככל הדברים אלה גם בנוגע לכת"ר שי' שבודאי כשידבר עם בנו הרב שי' או בע"פ או בכתב בדברים היוצאים מן הלב כנ"ל בודאי ישפיע עליו.
