I have just received your letter (note 1: This letter is addressed to Rav Yechiel Michel Yehuda Leib Zalmanov. See, regarding him, letter no. 7950) of 10 Elul*, with the request for blessing that accompanied it. You tell me that you are endeavoring to maintain contact with the people over whom you have exercised an influence until now and I am satisfied by this. Of course, you will endeavor to broaden its circle in the fitting manner. One of the means of achieving this is the publication to which you allude. I enclose a collection on Elul* of which you will be able to make use, if time still permits. On this subject, you will surely tell me whether the reproduction of our discourse was indeed published by the Machanayim* (note 2: A Torah* review appearing in Eretz Yisrael*). Its translation was sent from here some time ago and surely the absence of a response was correctly interpreted as meaning that this text could be published without change.

Likewise, you describe to me the activities of the youth of the Chabad* association, in general, and those carried out in certain places, in particular. I am satisfied by this. For this as well, you will make the fitting publication, in order to arouse competition between the wise, in the other places. You also allude to your birthday. May Hashem therefore grant that you have a year of success in the study of the Torah*, the practice of the Mitzvos*, and fervent prayer. On the occasion of the approaching new year, for us and for all of Israel, for the good and for the blessing, may you be inscribed and sealed, as well as your wife, for a good and sweet year. ז"ע נתקבל מכתבו מיו"ד אלול עם הפ"נ המוסגר בו, ונהניתי ממ"ש שמשתדל להחזיק בהקשרים עם אותם שהיתה השפעתו עליהם עד עתה.

מובן מעצמו שישתדל ג"כ להרחיב באופן המתאים. ואחת העצות בזה הוא ג"כ ענין ההדפסה שמזכיר. ומוסג"פ ליקוט אלול שאפשר יוכל לנצל גם את זה אם עוד הזמן גרמא.

דא"ג בטח יודיע אם נדפס ב"מחנים" העתק שיחתנו, שמאז שלוחה לכאן מצעירי אגו"ח ההעתקה, ובטח פירשו העדר המענה כדבעי, היינו שאפשר להדפיסה בלי שינויים.

כן נהניתי ממ"ש אודות פעולות צעירי אגו"ח בכלל ובמקומות מיוחדים בפרט.

ובטח גם על זה יפרסם באופן המתאים כדי לעורר קנאת סופרים במקומות אחרים.

וליום הולדתו שכותב אודותו, הנה יה"ר שתהי' שנת הצלחה אצלו בלימוד התורה קיום המצות ועבודת התפלה.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה יכתב ויחתם הוא וזוגתו שיחיו לשנה טובה ומתוקה...
