By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of this day and I note, with satisfaction, that you are firm in your trust in Hashem, that you are in no way affected by what happened regarding the purchase of your house (note 1: Which presumably caused a significant financial loss). Indeed, such an attitude would have no foundation, which may Hashem forbid. Little by little, it is certain that all the debts will be paid. May Hashem grant that you repay not only the material debts, but also the moral debts, that is to say those incumbent upon man in relation to the mission entrusted to him, in accordance with the terms of the Mishnah*: "I was created to serve my Creator." You will do so in good health and this will strengthen it, for, as our Sages say (note 2: See the Torah Or*, Parshas* Yisro*, page 71b), the angels carry the Heavenly Chariot and are, simultaneously, carried by it.

I also took pleasure in reading the following paragraphs of your letter, your public teaching of the necessary laws, your actions toward Jews, the help you benefit from. May Hashem grant you success. You also ask me in what manner to convince a certain person. In such a case, one must speak to him again and again, in accordance with the well-known account of the Avos* of Rabbi Nosson (note 3: Chapter 6, paragraph 2, which says: "What were the beginnings of Rabbi Akiva?"), showing that the water even managed to erode the stone. How much more is this so for the heart of stone of the children of Israel, since in this case, the term "stone" is used only figuratively. And, what is clearly established needs no proof. With my blessing for a healthy and joyful summer, as well as for giving good news of all of this,

במענה על מכתבו מיום זה. נהניתי ממה שחזקים הם בבטחונם בהשי"ת ואינם מתרשמים כלל וכלל מה[...] שבא מסיבת קניית הבית שלהם, כי אין להתרשמות זו כל יסוד ח"ו. ובודאי לאט לאט יפרעו כל החובות.

ויה"ר ש[יפרעו לא] רק החובות בגשמיות, [כ"א] גם החובות ברוחניות, היינו [חובות] האדם במילוי תפקידו - שכדבר המשנה הוא: אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני. ויה'י זה מתוך בריאות הנכונה, ויוסיף זה בבריאות הנכונה, ע"ד מרז"ל אשר חיות המרכבה נושאים ומנושאים.

ובהמשך לזה נעים לי לקרות הסעיפים שלאח"ז במכתבו - בלימודו ברבים הלכות הצריכות ומפעולותיו עם פרטים מבנ"י, ואשר... מסייעים בזה ויה"ר שיהי' בהצלחה.

במ"ש אודות מר... שי' אופן הפעולה עליו, הנה ידוע בכגון דא לדבר עוד הפעם ועוד הפעם וכו', וכסיפור הידוע מאדר"ן כו' אשר אפילו אבנים שחקו מים - ועאכו"כ לב האבן דבנ"י, שתואר האבן בזה אינו אלא שם המושאל, והמפורסם בזה אינן צריכים ראי'.
