Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8078 — Chinuch

Volume 21 · Letter 325

By the grace of Hashem,

23 Kislev* 5716,

Brooklyn,

I greet you and bless you,

I was satisfied to receive your letter, in which you inform me of your study program of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus*. Without a doubt, you put into practice the ruling of our holy Torah* according to which one knows the elevation in the domain of holiness. Now, if one acts in this direction, if one consents to an effort, it is certain that this effort is crowned with success.

Without a doubt, you have absorbed the idea that you are going to Montreal for the purpose of giving the example of what a student of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* must be, not only during prayer and study, by scrupulously respecting the schedule of the Yeshivah*, but also by showing in what manner one must conduct oneself during the break times. Indeed, Chassidus* explains how a servant places himself at the service of his master, even if the latter is merely a being of flesh and blood. How much more must this be so for the Supreme King, the Holy One blessed be He. It must be evident that one serves Him throughout the day, including while eating and sleeping. And it is regarding all of this that our Sages say: "If you make efforts, they will be crowned with success," for nothing resists the will. With my blessing for success in the study of the Torah* imbued with fear of Hashem, in the practice of the Mitzvos* in the best manner and, in particular, in fervent prayer,

For the Rebbe Shlita*,
