Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8079 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 21 · Letter 326 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem,

24 Kislev* 5716,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to

communal needs, of virtuous conduct,

Rav Avraham (note 1: Rav A. Pariz. See, regarding him, letter no. 7854),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letters of 16 Kislev* and to those that preceded them. I am satisfied with your desire to take part in the meetings. No doubt you will continue to do so in the future, then you will report to me in detail. The more precise you are in this matter, the better. You speak of resignations, one person resigns from his functions, another does the same. It is therefore necessary to explain to these people that one must be cautious when one works for my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, for, in the end, one might well accept this resignation and, from then on, one would remain on the outside, which may Hashem forbid.

Furthermore, it should have been clearly explained to them, once and for all, that those who resign toward the inside also do so toward the outside, which means that these men are no longer authorized, subsequently, to speak in the name of our institutions and of what concerns us, as they did before this resignation. Let them therefore cease playing and engaging in politics against my father-in-law, the Rebbe! May Hashem grant you the merit and the success of telling them all of this. But you will do so with pleasant words, in order to convince those who hear them.

We are now heading toward the days of Chanukah* (note 2: This letter is dated the eve of Chanukah), during which one lights in ascending order and one illuminates even at the door of one's house, toward the outside. May the light and the luminaire of Chassidus* therefore spread in an ever-increasing manner in all the Chabad* institutions, wherever they may be, until we have the merit of witnessing the fulfillment of the promise according to which: "the night will illuminate like the day." With my blessing for success in all of this and awaiting your good news,

The sending of the present letter was delayed and I have just received your letter of 25 Kislev*. I am surprised that you are so brief regarding the Chassidic* gathering of 19 Kislev*, which was organized in the various places. May Hashem grant that at least you invite the others to write to me on this subject, with all the fitting details.
