(1st day of Rosh Chodesh* Adar* 5716)

I respond to your letter (note 1: This letter is addressed to Rav Yechiel Michel Yehuda Leib Zalmanov. See, regarding him, letter no. 7950) of 21 Shevat*. I thank you for having briefly described to me the Chassidic* gatherings that took place since then (note 2: Presumably since the preceding correspondence of Rav Zalmanov). No doubt you will continue to do so in the future, but with all the fitting and necessary details (note 3: And no longer in a brief manner). Above all, you must multiply actions in the vineyard of Chabad*, in general. More precisely, you hold the position of military chaplain and there are therefore certain accomplishments that no one else can do in your place, and may Hashem grant you, in this matter, considerable success.

It is no doubt needless to emphasize to you the necessity of doing everything in your power to develop and make fruitful the Tel Aviv and Yerushalayim*, may it be restored and rebuilt, groups of the youth of the Chabad* association. I send you my blessing for good health, for yourself and for your wife. With my blessing for receiving the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner (note 4: During the festival of Shavuos*), as well as for giving good news of all of this,

והעיקר אשר ירבה בפעולות בכרם חב"ד בכלל ובפרט בהמקצוע שבהיותו רב צבאי ה"ה מסוג ענין שאי אפשר לעשותו באופן כך ע"י אחרים. ויה"ר שיהי' כל הנ"ל בהצלחה מופלגה.

בטח למותר לעוררו לעשות ככל יכלתו בהגדלת ושגשוג דצעירי אגו"ח... בסניף תל אביב וגם בסניף ירושלים ת"ו.

בברכה לקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות ולבשו"ט בכל הנ"ל.
