By the grace of Hashem,

1st Nissan* 5716,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 16 Adar*. Of course, there is no reason to thank me for my intervention on behalf of this Agunah* woman (note 1: Unable to remarry, her husband having disappeared without a trace). In fact, various works of our Sages specify that an action in this direction is comparable to the reconstruction of the ruins of Yerushalayim*. Moreover, this concerns, in this case, "the poor of your city" (note 2: Our Sages teach, indeed, that: "the poor of your city take priority over those of another city"), those whose "poverty" manifests itself in the same domain (note 3: The addressee of this letter is himself confronted, furthermore, with the problem of an Agunah, in this case his sister).

We therefore await the instructions of your sister, to whom Hashem will grant long days and good years, on the continuation of the steps, based on the possibilities that were enumerated from here.

במענה על מכתבו מט"ז אדר, הנה מובן אשר אין להודות על ההשתדלות בעגונא דאתתא, ובפרט ע"פ המבואר בכמה ספרי רז"ל שהמשתדל בזה כבונה חורבה בירושלים.

ובפרט כשהמדובר נכנס בסוג דעניי עירך, עני באותו דבר.

ומחכים להוראות אחותו שתליט"א באיזה אופן רוצה להמשיך בזה, מתאים למה שכתבו לה מכאן האפשריות...
