Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8098 — Tzedakah

By the grace of Hashem,

27 Iyar* 5716,

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of 21 Iyar*. Likewise, I received the Haggadah* of unified rite and the Pesach* pamphlet. I thank you for them and I ask you to do the same in the future (note 1: For upcoming publications). I enclose a copy of the letter I addressed to all (note 2: This is letter no. 4355), on the occasion of the general meeting of the various groups of Chabad* women and girls, in every place and, all the more so, in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt.

May Hashem grant that these days (note 3: Preceding the giving of the Torah*), regarding which it is said: "And Israel camped," as our Sages interpret (note 4: At the foot of Mount Sinai, "as one man, with one heart"), influence the persons you mention, within all of Israel, so that they constitute a single assembly, sharing a single opinion, "as one man," in order to carry out the mission entrusted to us in this world. Indeed, man is created to serve his Creator. In our era, this consists of disseminating the wellsprings (note 5: Of Chassidus*), until they reach the outside, precisely with love. As various texts establish, the reason for the exile is hatred without justification. The rectification must therefore be the other extreme (note 6: Love without reason). This is quite evident. Of course, these few lines are not addressed solely to you, but indeed to everyone. May Hashem grant you the merit and success of giving good news of all of this. With my blessing for receiving the Torah* with joy and in a profound manner, as well as for giving good news of all that has just been said,

ויה"ר שימי סגולה אלו, שעליהם אמר ויחן ישראל לשון יחיד כדרשת רז"ל, ישפיעו גם על... בתכ"י וביחוד על... בהנ"ל, שיעשו כולם אגודה אחת בדיעה אחת וכאיש אחד למלאות תפקידנו בעלמא דין, שהאדם נברא לשמש את קונו, שבתקופתנו זו הוא הפצת המעינות (עד שיגיעו גם) חוצה, ודוקא מתוך אהבה. וכמבואר בכ"מ שכיון שהגלות [הוא] בעון שנאת חנם מוכרח התיקון בקצה ההפכי, וק"ל.

ומובן שכוונתי בשורותי אלה הוא לא רק אליו אלא לכאו"א... והשי"ת יזכהו ויצליחו לבשר טוב בכל האמור.
