By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 29 Menachem Av*. Your plan to devote yourself, the entire day, to sacred studies, within the framework of the Yeshivah*, is particularly judicious. Happy will be your lot if you organize yourself in this way. It has already been said that: "You are attached to Hashem your Elokim*" and this attachment of Israel to the Holy One blessed be He passes through the Torah*. It is thus that: "You are all alive this day," including in the most literal sense. Ultimately, one thus succeeds in settling in a positive manner, also in this material world.

You surely have knowledge of the three established studies, which bear upon the Chumash*, the Tehillim*, and the Tanya*. At the very least, you will adopt them in the future. With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,
