To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

filled with eagerness, of manifold

accomplishments, Rav Tzvi (note 1: Rav T. Nerya, rector of the Yeshivah* of Kfar HaRo'eh*. See, regarding him, letters no. 4194 and 8150),

I greet you and bless you,

I am somewhat surprised not to have had news from you since you departed from here. Now, one knows that when two Jews meet, it is certain that a change and an addition are produced, not only for themselves but also for their surroundings, especially if these are persons to whom Hashem has granted the merit of being able to influence others and who indeed do so. No doubt you will complete all of this on a future occasion. I received, in recent days, a letter from my friends who are in our Holy Land, may it be restored and rebuilt, and here is what they write to me: "There is a crisis in the religious youth organization. In various settlements, there is no fixed synagogue and all therefore pray together (note 2: Men and women), without separation, as the Halachah* requires. Sometimes, there may even be, in this, an ideological position. In this regard, it would be appropriate to address Rav Nerya who can exercise his influence and even rectify the situation."

Concerning what is not positive, our Sages say that: "he whom one suspects is likely guilty." How much more is this so for the attribute of good, which is more powerful. Even if you think, for the moment, that you are not in a position to intervene in this matter, you must remember that we addressed this point together, in our discussion. Now, everything is an effect of Divine Providence and from there, they write to me here, which leads me, from here, to write there. It is therefore certain that you will "invest yourself" in this (note 3: That you will engage in this accomplishment), according to the term employed by Chassidus*, for the purpose of rectifying the situation, to the fullest extent possible. I have good hope that you will succeed. And you will not fail to inform me of your success in this matter.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches for us and for all of Israel, for the good and for the blessing, I address to you, by the present letter, my wishes, to you and to yours, that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year, materially and spiritually. With my blessing for giving good news of all of this,

לפלא קצת שמזמן נסעו מכאן, לא נשמע ממנו דבר, אף שידוע שכאשר שנים מבני ישראל נפגשים, בודאי נעשה מזה שינוי והוספה, ולא רק בהנוגע אליהם כי אם גם בהנוגע לסביבתם.ובפרט כשהמדובר אודות אלו שחוננו בכח השפעה על הזולת ועוסקים בזה. ובטח ימלא בהזדמנות הבאה.

ימים אלו קבלתי מכתב מידידי אשר באה"ק ת"ו, וכותבים וז"ל: יש פרצה בארגון נוער דתי, ובכמה נקודות התישבות שאין בהם בית כנסת קבוע, להתפלל בתערובות ר"ל ללא מחיצה כדין ולעתים לפי אידיאולוגיא. יפנה נא לרב נרי' שבידו להפיע שם לתקן.

ואם בענינים בלתי רצוים אמרו רז"ל אין אדם נחשב אא"כ יש בו, עאכו"כ במדה טובה שהיא מרובה. ואפילו את"ל שלע"ע אינו מרגיש שיש לו כח השפעה בכגון דא, אף שבטח זוכר שבשיחתנו נגענו גם בנקודה זו, הנה כיון שכל דבר הוא בהשגחה פרטית וכותבים מהתם להכא ועי"ז מהכא להתם, בודאי כת"ר, בלשון החסידות, יתלבש בז"ה ז.

א. לתקן ככל האפשרי, ותקותי חזקה שיהי' בידו לתקן את הנ"ל. ובטח לא ימנע הטוב מלהודיעני ע"ד הצלחתו בזה.

ולקראת השנה החדשה הבאה עלינו ועל כל ישראל לטובה ולברכה הנני בזה להביע ברכתי לו ולכל אשר לו, ברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה לשנה טובה ומתוקה בגשמיות וברוחניות.
