To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Eliyahu Akiva (note 1: Rav E. A. Lipsker. See, regarding him, letters no. 5048 and 8161),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 28 Teves*. I thank you for the good news of the motivation that has emerged among the women and girls of Chabad* in your city. No doubt you will remain vigilant in this domain, in order to maintain this motivation until it is followed by effect, in accordance with what was said. I also read with satisfaction in this letter that you are making efforts, in the fitting manner and to the extent that it depends on you, to strengthen the school Talmud Torah* Beis Yosef Yeshivah* Lubavitch of your city (note 2: Toronto*. See, on this subject, letters no. 5358, 6912, and 7072).

I am astonished that the members of the committee do not at all take into account the specific difficulties of this type of institution. Certainly, this does not justify the shortcomings. On the other hand, this is amply sufficient for them to manifest a particular interest in this institution. May Hashem therefore grant that you have, in this matter, considerable success, since you have committed yourself, in function of your means, to developing and strengthening this institution. Very soon, you will give me good news thereof. The Holy One blessed be He acts "measure for measure" (note 3: In the manner in which one acts toward Him), but in largely increased proportion. Without a doubt, He will therefore multiply His blessings and the success He will grant you in all your needs. Above all, you and your wife will derive much Chassidic* satisfaction from all your children, with true breadth of spirit. With my blessing for giving good news,

N.B.: I enclose a letter for Mr. Newman, for here we do not know his address. More generally, it would be useful for you to speak to him in person, in order to explain to him the idea of this letter, so as to draw him more clearly toward Chassidus*, in function of his situation and his state of health. This is quite evident.

כן נעם לי לקרות במכתבו אשר ישתדל ככל הדרוש וככל התלוי בו בהנוגע לביסוס והתפתחות המוסד ת"ת בית יוסף ישיבה ליובאוויטש אשר במחנם הט'.

ולפלא שכנראה חברי הועד אין לוקחים בחשבון כלל כל הקישוים שישנם במוסד כגון דא, אף שמובן שאין בזה להצדיק את החסרונות אבל בודאי שיש בזה די והותר בכדי שגם הם יתענינו יותר בהנוגע להמוסד, ויהי רצון שיצליח בהצלחה מופלגה בזה, במה שלקח על עצמו בהתלוי בו להתפתחותו וביסוסו של המוסד. ויבשר טוב בקרוב ממש.

ובמדתו של הקב"ה שהיא מדה כנגד מדה אלא שכ"פ ככה, בודאי שיתוסף, בברכות השי"ת והצלחתו בהמצטרך בכלל, ובהעיקר שהוא וזוגתו שיחיו יקבלו רוב נחת חסידותי מכל יו"ח שי' מתוך הרחבת הדעת אמיתית.
