Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8154 — Faith & Bitachon

Volume 21 · Letter 401 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu

By the grace of Hashem,

5 Iyar* 5718,

Brooklyn,

To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself

to communal needs, to generous conduct, Rav Shlomo (note 1: Rav S. Perrin, of London. See, regarding him, letter no. 7965),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Iyar*, in which you speak to me of your wife, Mrs. Feyla. At a propitious moment, her name will be mentioned once more near the holy tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, so that her state of health may improve very quickly. Together with her, you will have, for long days and good years, much satisfaction from your children and your grandchildren.

Moreover, you allude to your origins and several points that you specify were, for me, truly new. This will therefore protect you with regard to what has just been said (note 2: To obtain good health and satisfaction from the children). One knows, indeed, the affirmation of our Sages according to which: "when one shoots an arrow, it falls back on its point" (note 3: One always rediscovers one's origins). How much more is this the case for the Chassidic* warmth and enthusiasm that your parents received from our masters, founders of the teaching of Chabad*. One knows that the words and deeds of the righteous are immutable and that they produce their effect, in the most literal sense, in daily existence. Without a doubt, these deeds will multiply the blessings that Hashem grants you in all that has just been said. Awaiting your good news, I conclude by addressing you my blessing, material and spiritual,

M. Schneerson,

I have just received your letter announcing that the state of health of your wife has improved. I thank you very much for this, as well as for the photograph of your granddaughters, may Hashem grant them long days and good years.
