By the grace of Hashem,

I bless you and greet you,

I respond to your letter, in which you tell me that you have reached the age of the Bas Mitzvah*, namely twelve years, on 15 Menachem Av*. May Hashem therefore grant that you receive the yoke of the divine Kingship and that of the Mitzvos*, with a whole heart. Hashem will grant you success in your studies and in your conduct. You will grow and you will merit the title of Chabad* young woman, in conformity with the will of our holy masters, whose merit will protect us. In this matter, you will also influence your friends, through your word or even through what goes beyond it, by giving them the example of a Jewish young woman who received her education according to the ways of Chassidus*. This will bring you happiness, spiritual and material. With my blessing,

You ask me about the place and the manner of continuing your studies. The education of youth, in particular at your age, conditions one's entire life. Autonomy and determination depend on it, qualities thanks to which one can overcome the trials that each person encounters in his or her existence. Moreover, we live in an era of numerous transformations. It is impossible to foresee now what life will be in a few years. One therefore cannot imagine the importance of the trials one will have to undergo, in order not to stumble with regard to justice, uprightness, faith, and religion. Consequently, each person among the youth can and must, in my opinion, receive the most intensive religious education, in order to be prepared for all the dangers that might present themselves, which may Hashem forbid. It may seem that this results in discomfort, during a certain period, but what does all that matter if one takes into account the protection and the increased strength that one receives, for one's entire life, thanks to such an education?

הנה יהי רצון שתקבל עליך עול מלכות שמים ועול מצות בלבב שלם, והשם יתברך יצליחך בלימודך ובהנהגה, ותגדלי להיות ראוי' לשם בת חב"ד, מתאימה לרצון נשיאנו הקדושים זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע,

ותשפיע גם על החבירות שלך בזה, בדבור ועוד יותר - על ידי היותך דוגמא חי' של בית ישראל המחונכת בדרכי החסידות. וזה יביא לך אושר רוחני וגשמי.

בשאלתך אודות מקום המשך לימודך ואפנו -

לדעתי, כיון שהחינוך של הנוער, ובפרט החינוך באותן השנים דגיל שלך - משפיע על כל משך ימי חייו, ובו תלוים העצמאות שלו והתוקף שלו, שיוכל לעמוד בנסיונות, שישנן בחייו של כל אחד ואחת,

כיון שנמצאים אנו בתקופה רבת השינוים, שאי אפשר לשער עתה כלל אופי תנאי החיים לאחרי שנים אחדות, ולכן אין לדעת גם כן גודל הנסיונות אז שלא להכשל בעניני צדק ויושר, אמונה ודת.

- לכן צריך וחייב כל אחד ואחת מהנוער - לקבל חינוך דתי במדה המקיסימלית, בכדי שיוכל לעמוד בכל סכנה שלא תבוא, חס ושלום.

ואם אפילו חינוך באופן זה קשור יהי' באיזה אי נוחיות וכיוצא בזה במשך תקופת זמן - במה נחשב זה לעומת החיסון ותוספת כח שמקבלים, על ידי חינוך זה דוקא, למשך כל ימי החיים.
