To the young man Yehuda (note 1: Rav Y. Amar, of Casablanca, Morocco),

I greet you and bless you,

I have duly received your letter from before Rosh Hashanah*, in which you describe your situation, and I therefore await your good news, especially since you know the great Rav, Chassid* of many accomplishments and generous conduct, Rav Shlomo Matusof (note 2: Emissary of the Rebbe in Casablanca. See, regarding him, letter no. 7953), who faithfully assumes his mission, who seeks the welfare of the community and of individuals, to the full extent of his means. You will therefore consult him and you will follow what he tells you.

During all these weeks, you have surely fixed a time for the study of the Torah*, with ardor and constancy. Being in the situation you describe, you need an increased blessing for your health and for your settlement. Now, the assurance has been given to us that: "if you walk in My statutes," which means, as our Sages specify in the Sifra*: "if you direct your efforts toward the Torah*," then: "I will give" all the blessings that are mentioned in the Parashah*. With my blessing for giving good news of all of this,

מאשרים קבלת מכתבו מלפני ר"ה, בו כותב ע"ד מצבו, ומחכים לבשו"ט ממנו, ובפרט ע"פ שמכירים את הרה"ג והרה"ח רב פעלים ובעל מדות כו' מו"ה שלמה שי' מתוסוף, אשר עובד מלאכתו באמונה ומשתדל ככל יכולתו לתועלת הרבים, ולתועלת היחידים, ואליו יפנה ויעשה כהוראתו.

בודאי יש לו במשך כל שבועות אלו- קביעות עתים בלימוד התורה בהתמדה ושקידה, ובפרט במצבו שכותב - זקוק להוספת ברכה בהנוגע לבריאותו להסתדרות, והובטחנו אם בחוקותי תלכו ופירשו רז"ל (בספרא) שתהיו עמלים בתורה וגו' ונתתי וגו' - ככל הברכות המנויות בפרשה.
