To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,

Rav Aryeh Dov (note 1: Rav A. D. Edelman, of Paris. See, regarding him, letter no. 1079) and his wife, Mrs. Slava,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 15 Cheshvan* and to the telegram that followed it, referring to the marriage of your son (note 2: Rav Shalom Edelman, subsequently emissary of the Rebbe in Casablanca, Morocco), who will have long days and good years. You have surely already received my previous correspondence, which also referred to it. Nevertheless, I will repeat my remarks here.

It has been discussed, on various occasions, to fix this marriage in Kislev* (note 3: See, on this subject, letter no. 3092), month of the deliverance (note 4: Of the Admur HaZaken* from the czarist prisons, on 19 Kislev*), in particular for the Chassidim* and the students of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim*. Indeed, there is no reason to delay a marriage, in conformity with Jewish custom. To the extent possible, one must therefore indeed endeavor to celebrate it in Kislev*. As for the location of this marriage, the two families will reach an agreement and the decision they take will be fruitful in every respect. With my blessing that you have better health, that you let me know you are recovering your strength, and that you give me good news of what has just been said,

במענה למכתבו מט"ו חשון והמברק שלאחריו, ותוכנו אודות זמן חתונת בנם שליט"א.

בטח כבר נתקבל מכתבי הקודם, שגם בו כתוב בהנוגע לזה, ובכל אופן אכפול עוד הפעם.

שכיון שנדבר זה כמה פעמים בהנוגע לקביעות זמן החתונה בחדש כסלו הוא חדש הגאולה ובפרט לאנ"ש ותלמידי התמימים, ובעניני חתונה אין כדאי לאחר, כידוע נוהג ישראל בזה, ולכן יש להשתדל אם רק באפשרי שתהי' החתונה בחדש כסלו.

בהנוגע למקום החתונה, יתדברו שני הצדדים בזה, ואיך שיחליטו יהי' להצלחה בכל הפרטים.

בברכה להטבת הבריאות ולידיעה שחוזר לאיתנו ולבשו"ט בכל האמור.
