By the grace of Hashem,

To the young man...,

I greet you and bless you,

After a particularly long interruption, I have duly received your letter of 24 Teves*, date of the Hilula* of the Admur HaZaken*. You briefly describe your current settlement and the persons you have come to know since then. It goes without saying that you must maintain contact with them, even if they are not all in one same place. You will do so, for example, by corresponding with them. The purpose of this contact is, of course, to strengthen their attachment to Hashem, the Elokim* of Israel. And this attachment will be profound, as it is said: "And you are attached to Hashem your Elokim*, all alive this day." It is established that an effort is never in vain.

You tell me that those who wish to study do not do so in a disinterested manner. Now, why involve yourself in what is hidden and known only to Hashem? Do therefore what is incumbent upon you and the Torah* will play its role! In the end, it will bring them back toward the good! Your friend is with you and it is therefore clear that all of this applies to him in the same way. The one will come to the aid of the other so that you disseminate the entirety of true Judaism. לאחרי ההפסק הכי ארוך, נתקבל מכתבו מכ"ד טבת, הילולא של כ"ק אדמו"ר הזקן, בו כותב ר"פ מאופן הסתדרותו עתה, וע"ד האנשים אשר הכיר אותם במשך הזמן.

ובודאי למותר לעוררו על המשך ההתקשרות עמהם, אף שנמצאים לא במקום אחד, ע"י מכתבים וכיו"ב. ותכלית ההתקשרות הוא, כמובן וגם פשוט, שעי"ז יתוסף בהתקשרותם בה' אלקי ישראל, התקשרות עד לדביקות, וכמ"ש ואתם הדבקים בה' אלקיכם חיים כולכם היום. וחזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם.

וא[ף] שכותב שמי שרוצה ללמוד אינו לומד לשמה וכו'- בהדי כבשי דרחמנא למה לך, הוא יעשה את שלו והתורה תעשה את שלה, להחזירו סו"ס למוטב.

כיון שנמצא אתו יחד חבירו... שי' - מובן שכל הנ"ל גם אליו מכוון, ואיש את אחיו יעזורו, בהפצת היהדות האמיתית וכל עניני'.
