To the young man Yaakov (note 1: Rav Y. Rebibo),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of this Wednesday, in which you briefly describe the place where you have pursued your studies until now, the organization of these studies, and the vicissitudes you have gone through recently, the moves from one place to another. Currently, you have returned to the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of France (note 2: In Brunoy*, in the Parisian region) and you are considering various possibilities as to the place of your studies and your settlement in the future. Now, our masters, whose merit will protect us, have delivered to us a teaching according to which a Yeshivah* student, in general, and of Tomchei Temimim*, in particular, must follow the instructions given to him by the leadership of this Yeshivah*.

One can also deduce this from a halachic* decision found in the revealed part of the Torah*, according to which: "You shall teach them (note 3: The words of the Torah*) to your children: this refers to the students" and: "a man is obligated to honor his master." You will therefore present your considerations, the possibilities and their justifications, to the leadership of the Yeshivah* Tomchei Temimim* of Brunoy*, then you will follow the instructions that will be given to you. In all domains, it is necessary to receive the help of Hashem. It is therefore quite evident that every addition, on your part, to the study of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus* will increase the blessings He grants you, as well as your success in all that has just been said and in what you write to me. במענה למכתבו מיום הרביעי, בו כותב ראשי פרקים ממקום לימודו עד עתה וסדרי לימודו מן הרפתקאות שעברו עליו לאחרונה וטלטול ממקום למקום, ואשר עתה חזר לתומכי תמימים דצרפת, ומפרט איזה סברות בהנוגע למקום לימודו והסתדרותו בעתיד.

וכיון אשר שמענו הוראה מכ"ק רבותינו זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע אשר תלמיד ישיבה בכלל ותלמיד ישיבות תומכי תמימים בפרט צריך להתנהג מתאים להוראת הנהלת הישיבה,

והרי מובן האמור גם בפס"ד בנגלה דתורה, ושננתם לבניך אלו התלמידים, וחייב אדם בכבוד רבו וכו'

לכן יפרט עניניו וכל הסברות והטעמים שלו לפני הנהלת תומכי תמימים דברונא ויעשה כהוראתם.

ומובן וגם פשוט שכיון שלכל ענין צריכים לסייעתא דשמיא, הנה כל הוספה מצדו בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות תוסיף בברכות השי"ת והצלחתו בכל האמור בהענינים אודותם כותב.
