To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of

multiple knowledge, of illustrious lineage,

Rav Yosef David (note 1: Rav Y. D. Moskovitch. See, regarding him, letter no. 6084),

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of this Thursday, in which you speak to me of your book Tikkun Eruvin* (note 2: The making of the Eruv*, delimiting the domain in which it is permitted to carry during Shabbos*). In the letter I addressed to you (note 3: This is letter no. 2786), I give you my opinion on this subject and, more generally, I emphasize the great importance of making an Eruv*. You solicit an approbation of your work, but what can I do? Such a practice is not customary in the family of the Rebbe. It seems to me that I have already indicated this to you, when we spoke of it in person. You will kindly excuse me for this.

ובמ"ש אודות הסכמה, הנה מה אעשה שאין זה בנוהג בבית הרב. וכמדומה כבר אמתי לו זה גם בשיחתנו פא"פ. ואתו הסליחה.
