By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I respond to your letter of 4 Nissan*. You mention the thoughts that trouble you and one knows the counsel that is formulated on this subject (note 1: See, in particular, on this subject, letter no. 6432). One must pray or study by consulting the text in a book. Even if you have your eyes closed, this book will remain open before you. Indeed, the words catch hold of the thought.

You also wish to exercise an influence, in the domain of the Torah* and the fear of Hashem, on the young man with whom you study (note 2: The addressee of this letter is presumably a student of the Yeshivah* and he alludes here to his study partner). You will take counsel, in this matter, from those who know his character traits. It is said, indeed, that: "salvation emanates from many counselors." And our Sages have provided us with another specification on this subject: when someone is animated by the fear of Hashem, his words are heard, which means that, if you yourself strengthen your own fear of Hashem, your voice will be better heard.

At a propitious moment, all those you cite will be mentioned near the holy tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. May Hashem grant that you give me good news of all of this. You will therefore tell me that you are intensifying your study of the Torah*, with enthusiasm and ardor, your practice of the Mitzvos* in the best manner, and your success in what has just been stated. With my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival of Pesach*,

במענה למכתבו מד' ניסן: במ"ש אודות מחשבות מבלבלות, ידועה העצה בזה, להתפלל וללמוד מבפנים הספר, וגם בשעה שעיניו סגורות יהי' הספר פתוח לפניו, אשר אותיות אחזוה (האלטין איין די מחשבה).

ובמ"ש אודות להשפיע על האברך... שי' עמו לומד השפעה בעניני תורה ויראת שמים, הנה יתייעץ בזה עם היודעים תכונת נפש הנער, וכבר נאמר ותשועה ברוב יועץ, והודיענו חז"ל עוד ענין בזה, אשר כל מי שיש בו יראת שמים דבריו נשמעים, זאת אומרת כשיוסיף הוא ביראת שמים, יתוסף ג"כ בהשומע לקולו, וק"ל.

בעת רצון יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע. ויהי רצון שיבשר טוב בכל האמור, ז.א. שמוסיף הוא בלימוד התורה בהתמדה ושקידה בקיום המצות בהידור ומצליח בהנ"ל.
