Igrot Kodesh · Letter 8190 — Faith & Bitachon
Volume 21 · Letter 437 · To: distingué ‘Hassid qui craint D.ieu
By the grace of Hashem,
18 Iyar* 5719,
Brooklyn,
To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of multiple
accomplishments and good conduct,
Rav Shlomo (note 1: Rav S. Perrin, of London. See, regarding him, letter no. 7965),
I greet you and bless you,
I have duly received your letter of 7 Iyar*, announcing good news to me:
A) The number of students of the Beis Lubavitch* has increased and a prayer service has been organized there. May Hashem grant that there be fulfilled in this the promise according to which: "the reward of the Mitzvah* is the Mitzvah* itself," that there be therefore many more. Such an increase will be both quantitative, in the number of students, and qualitative, in the standards of study and in the influence that it must bring to action, as it is said: "Great is the study that leads to action."
B) Your wife, may Hashem grant her long days and good years, is in better health. May Hashem grant, according to the expression of our masters, that one go from good to better. As the Halachah* specifies: "Having a body in good health and whole is part of the ways of Hashem," according to the terms of the Rambam*, in his Laws of Opinions, at the beginning of chapter 4.
C) Last point, which arouses the greatest interest: your daughter, may Hashem grant her long days and good years, finds herself in other conditions (note 2: She is expecting a child). May Hashem grant that her pregnancy go well and be easy, that she have a child in good health, in its time and easily. Today is the luminous day of Lag BaOmer*. The contribution of this date was the introduction of the hidden part of the Torah* into its revealed aspect. May it be so likewise for the good that Hashem grants to every Jew, within all of Israel. May it be revealed here below, in a concrete manner. And may the merit of your action to disseminate the wellsprings (note 3: Of Chassidus*) in your country, in particular within the Beis Lubavitch*, procure for you an increased blessing and success in all that has just been said. Awaiting your good news,
M. Schneerson,
