To the students of the evening Yeshivah* of the holy city of
Yerushalayim* (note 1: See, on this subject, letter no. 8176), may it be restored and rebuilt,
may Hashem grant you long life,
I greet you and bless you,
I have duly received your letter of the days of limitation (note 2: Preceding the festival of Shavuos*) of this year, which are "a Shabbos* of Shabbos* for Hashem." It is indicated therein that the students of the Yeshivah* have taken good resolutions concerning the Torah* and its Mitzvos*. May Hashem satisfy the desire of your heart in this matter and even go beyond your request.
As I have written to several students of the Yeshivos*, in particular of the Chabad* Yeshivos*, you must do all that is in your power in order to give a good example, on the basis of these resolutions, or, more generally, to be a young man, a student of a Yeshivah* having a Chassidic* spirit, in conformity with the will of our masters and leaders. For nothing resists determination. Moreover, our Sages give us the assurance that: "one comes to the aid of the one who desires to purify himself" and: "when a man sanctifies himself somewhat here below, he receives immense heavenly sanctification." With my blessing for success and for giving good news of all of this,
N.B.: Of course, my words are addressed to all those you will succeed in influencing, as well as to your friends, who will have long days and good years, who are in the other evening Yeshivos*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבם מימי ההגבלה דשנה זו, אשר שבת שבתון היא לה', ותוכנו, קבלת - ע"י תלמידי הישיבה - החלטות טובות, בעניני תורה ומצותי'. ויה"ר שימלא השי"ת משאלות לבבם לטובה בהאמור, ובתוספת.
ובודאי, כמו שכתבתי לכמה מתלמידי ישיבות, ובפרט תלמידי ישיבות חב"ד, יעשו ככל התלוי בהם, להיות דוגמא חי' מתאימה לתקנות האמורות, ובכלל לאברך תלמידי ישיבה ברוח החסידות, כרצון רבותינו נשיאנו, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, ובפרט שהובטחנו מרז"ל, הבא לטהר מסייעין אותו, ואדם מקדש עצמו מעט למטה מקדשין אותו הרבה מלמעלה.
