By the grace of Hashem,

24 Elul* 5719,

I bless you and greet you (note 1: This letter is addressed to a woman),

After a long interruption, I have duly received your letter, with your request for blessing, which will be read, at a propitious moment, near the holy tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. You speak to me of your brother. Now, it seems to me that I have already written to you and, in addition, told your mother that there was nothing dramatic in the fact that he adopted the work of Zevulun (note 2: He has a commercial activity, rather than a sacred function, and uses his earnings to contribute to Tzedakah*, in contrast to Yissachar*, who devotes himself solely to study), which means that he supports the persons devoting themselves to the study of the Torah*, the institutions of Torah*, and that personally, he has a fixed time for the study of the revealed part of the Torah* and of Chassidus*.

Indeed, who knows? What is the portion that falls to each person in this world? Your brother has already tried to devote himself, with ardor, to the study of the Torah* and he has encountered all the difficulties one can conceive on this path. Perhaps the best way is, for him, to enroll in a Yeshivah* in which one also studies a trade. Of course, this must be an Orthodox Yeshivah*. Hashem, Who grants His Providence to each person, will guide him on the path that will be good for him, both materially and spiritually. With my blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good year, as well as for giving good news,

לאחרי הפסק ארוך נתקבל מכתב עם הפ"נ, שיקרא בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

ובמ"ש אודות אחי'... שי', כמדומה כבר כתבתי לה וכן דברנו עם אמה תחי' שאין להרעיש כל כך באם יהי' חלקו בעבודת זבולון, ז.א. תמיכה ללומדי תורה ומוסדות תורה וקביעות עתים בתורה נגלה וחסידות בהנוגע לעצמו, כי אין אתנו יודע עד מה, מהו חלקו של כל אחד בעולם זה, וכיון שכבר ניסה אחי' שי' והשתדל והתייגע להרבות בלימוד התורה ומצא כל כך קישוים יש לנסות בדרך האמורה, ואולי האופן הכי מתאים הוא שילמוד בהישיבה כזו שבה מלמדים גם מקצוע, או שביחד עם לימוד בישיבה איזה שעות ילמוד גם מקצוע, מובן בישיבה חרדית, והשי"ת המשגיח על כאו"א בהשגחה פרטית ינחהו בטוב לפניו בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד.
