By the grace of Hashem,

I greet you and bless you,

I learned, in its time, of your state of health and that you had been hospitalized. In a general manner, I do not call the hospital Beis HaCholim (note 1: According to the name given to it in Hebrew), house of the sick, for such an appellation goes against logic, since one goes there to be healed (note 2: See Sefer HisVaaduyos* 5747 (1987), volume 2, page 37, at note 11) and our Sages ask us to express ourselves in chosen terms. In any case, I was happy to learn of the success of the treatment, so that you have already returned home. I mentioned your name, at a propitious moment, near the tomb (note 3: Of the previous Rebbe).

We are approaching the time of our freedom (note 4: The festival of Pesach*) and may Hashem therefore grant that you be freed from all that disturbs you, that you use the capacities that divine Providence has granted you in order to disseminate traditional Judaism and, in particular, the wellsprings of Chassidus*. Furthermore, from what I have learned, you have taken the commitment to be active for the dissemination of Chassidus*, on the occasion of the bicentennial of the Hilula* of the Baal Shem Tov*, which is celebrated this year. With my respects and my blessing for a kosher and joyous festival (note 5: Of Pesach*), as well as for giving good news,

בעתו קבלתי הידיעה על דבר מצב בריאותו ואשר נכנס לבית הרפואה (בכלל איני גורס מה שקוראים ביה"ח, גם שאינו לפי ההגיון, שהרי נכנסים לשם להתרפאות, ואמרו חכמינו ז"ל שלעולם ידבר אדם בלשון נקי'), ושמחתי לקבל ידיעה אח"כ מהצלחת הטיפול הרפואי ואשר כבר שב לביתו.

ובעת רצון הזכרתיו על הציון.

וכיון שמתקרבים אנו לזמן חירותנו, יהי רצון שיהי' לכ' חירות מכל הענינים המבלבלים וינצל כשרונותיו אשר חונן בהם מההשגחה העליונה להפצת היהדות המסורתית ומעיינות החסידות ביחוד.

ובפרט אשר כפי הידיעה שקבלתי לקח על שכמו להיות פעיל בהפצת תורת החסידות בקשר עם שנת המאתיים להסתלקות- הילולא של הבעל שם טוב ז"ל השתא.
